Hamilton Beach Electric Hot Oil Popcorn Popper, Healthy Snack Maker, 24 Cups, Red (73302)

Before Christmas I wanted a popcorn maker that makes movie theater style popcorn. It is a good thing that Amazon.com had the right machine for my budget. This popcorn maker works well with Great Northern Popcorn Company all-n-one premium tri pack 6 ounce kettle pack. The flavor is close to the movie theater popcorn. After the first serving , I used my salt shaker dredge that was filled with Flavacol flavored salt and lightly sprinkled over the finished product in I reusable popcorn plastic tub that is sold right here in Amazon.com. Do not use vegetable oil when popping the kernels, the flavor tastes slightly bizarre. I purchased the 8 ounce kettle pack out of ignorance. There were about 10% of un popped kernels left over in the kettle when I used the Great Northern Popcorn Company 8 ounce tri pack. Use the 6 ounce package.This unit does not have a on and off switch. You have to unplug it from the electrical outlet to deactivate the machine. Cleaning the machine took about 3 minutes total.

What’s better than movie theater pop corn? Making it at home for pennies. Fresher. Organic. More Flavor. This popper seemed expensive before I bought it, but is worth every penny. Perfect popcorn every time and never any unpopped kernels. Make it plain, with butter, or add any seasoning you like. It couldn’t be better. Oh yeah…the one problem is keeping enough popcorn kernels in the house! We run out regularly. I think I’ll check out regular delivery from Amazon!

Very happy with popper which makes much better popcorn than microwave. This style is much easier to clean and maintain than the faux cart poppers, which require disassembly after each use in order to clean. Its best not to melt butter on the top as it will only coagulate along the sides of the lid - - this is common with all poppers of this style. Its easy to just microwave butter in a small bowl and pour over the popped corn when done. One negative is that when I tried to pop the maximum allowed (3/4 cup) half the kernels did not pop. I now always pop 1/2 cup which works great.

This popcorn popper works great! My husband loves it. It makes the popcorn really fast and pretty much all the popcorn gets popped. It does not have an on/ off switch. This is the first popper we had that actually works good when seasoning the popcorn too. Very satisfied customers. Also I like that I can remove the little thing that moves the popcorn around. 🍿 clean up is easy. Thank you for a great product.

This popcorn popper is really easy to use. It's easy to set up. And you don't really need to put hardly any oil into it. It takes about a tablespoon to a tablespoon and a half of oil. And it's easy to clean. And Cooks up the popcorn nicely. You don't have to worry about a whole lot of kernels or unpopped popcorn. The popcorn pops up nice and fresh and fluffy fully popped corn. You don't have any chaff or any of that other stuff that you're going to get if you do it on the stove. This item is also easily clean. Nothing has burnt to the machine. It's stores nicely. It's not a bulky item. It's attractive and the packaging is easily manageable. You can unpack it and the instructions are a little hilarious to read, but you'll figure it out. Anyway it's a nice cute unit to have. And I would recommend it because it also has a good price on it.

I just bought a spare so when the one I am using finally quits I will still have one to use. Just in case they stop making them or something. I have been using the current one for a couple years. We make a lot more popcorn now.....the old pan method was hit or miss and very messy. This popper is so easy to use. It is easy to clean up.....wipe out the tray with paper towels and wash the cover and stirrer in the sink and you are done. Using the lid as a serving bowl obviates the necessity of having another large bowl to wash too. This popper pops virtually every kernel if you buy a good grade of popcorn. Old, stale kernels without enough moisture in them (about 13.5%) won't pop by any method so fresh popcorn is always a necessity no matter how you make popcorn. This unit is the answer if you love popcorn.

Trying to find a popper that lasts is a road leading to nowhere. When I tried out this Hamilton Beach the first time I was impressed. It popped like a popcorn popper should and with very few 'old maids' left over. This continued for about 3 weeks and then like many other brands it started to fail. After many attempts the last batch I tried with about 3/4 of a cup and had about 2/3 of cup of kernels left that didn't pop. I contacted support and they asked me to send a photo of the series # and they would call me within 3 business days. They didn't. I called them back a week later and got disconnected while the rep said she was going to do research. I called back and after a period of time they said I needed to pay $11 and change to send it in for repairs. I felt I'd spent enough money on a product that didn't last a month and indicated that wouldn't be happening. I do not recommend this product.

Ya llevo un 1 año con este articulo , recien vi que no hice la reseña xD Les puedo contar que ha sido una gran compra a mi me encantan las palomitas y sin duda esto resulto muy conveniente , es muy sencillo de usar ,y rápido una vez que colocas el maiz y la enciendes tarda 4 minutos en hacer las palomitas y lo mejor es que la tapa se convierte en el bowl eso resulta aun más conveniente sin duda lo recomiendo desde que lo he comprado lo he usado en muchas ocasiones y funciona igual desde que estaba nuevo hasta ahora no ha tenido desgaste , asi mismo para limpiarlo es muy sencillo solo ocupas unas servilletas y unas toallitas para la grasa y listo 100% recomendado.

I used to use a glass popcorn popper but I found it left too many unpopped kernels so I wanted to switch to something new.This popcorn maker has changed my life! I've had it for a year now and I really love how easy to use it is. I can make more popcorn at a time and it can heat some butter on top of it while it's popping (but I recommend using clarified butter). It also doesn't leave as many unpopped kernels (maybe 4-5 unpopped kernels per use) as with the glass poppers (a layer of kernels at the bottom).I was also worried it would be hard to clean but it's good after a couple wipes (we don't use much oil).Four ingredients: Popcorn kernels, bit of oil, flavacol (which Amazon also sells), clarified butter and it will tastes like heaven. Highly recommended.

Excelente producto, fácil de usar y de limpiar. Las palomitas se hacen super rápido y sin desperdiciar. Me encantó!!!

The popcorn is harder and chewier than stove top oil poppers or units with kettles, and that seems to be a trait of the units you turn over after popping. There are always small hard bits of pop corn, and more unpopped kernels compared to other types.The machine works as expected, and is easy to use. During the initial clean and setup I needed to adjust the wire to make sure the kernels were moved, and based on experience with other units I expect to need to adjust from time to time. Easy to give a light cleaning, but I don't see a way to glean gunk under the cleaning surface through the seam between it and the plastic (see sticky note in picture). Lid doesn't seem sturdy and gets hot so you'll probably want to use a bowel.Compared to other similar units this low cost model does not have a removable cord or heating surface for easy cleaning, the cord is very short, there is no cord wrap, and there is no power switch.Minor buying experience issues:Listed as next day delivery with Prime at check out, but took over a week to arrive.
