Samsung RS21 range fridges tend to have this common failure, easy to diagnose with the inbuilt diagnostic on the fridge panel. It will show a single line at the bottom of the fridge temperature display when diagnosed. Don't be daunted by the repair job, if you follow one of the numerous videos on YouTube you will have this done in no time. It probably will take longer removing everything from the fridge than removing and installing this, although you will probably have a load of ice stuck to the interior of the back panel so time to get the hair dryer/hot air gun out!!It is also worthwhile mentioning that whilst you're replacing this part, you may as well get a new temperature sensor which is connected to the same area of the fridge just to make sure that is working fine. After all you don't want to be doing all this again the following week.

I knew the defrost element in my Samsung fridge was not working, but I struggled to find a replacement part (Brexit didn’t help). I found one online retailer who charged me Eur80 for a full back of fridge assembly, including the defrost element. I was prepared to pay if it fixed my fridge, but the retailer sent me a completely wrong part and strung out the refund process. The element was just what we needed to fix our American fridge freezer, which died when we switched it back on after returning from holiday. I wasn't especially keen to fork out £1000 for a replacement fridge, since I was perfectly happy with my existing one, so we took a punt on this piece of kit. As it turns out, it was money very well spent. Happy customers indeed.
