no need to change the complete unit just replace the moving assembly have now done this 3 times with success every time
I find with the fill valve I do not have to change the whole unit just by replacing the part and the float unit the fault then clears

better built, and less expensive
I'm replacing a lot of these, or repairing them with the service kit, on my local newbuild estate. Seem to give problems after 4 or 5 years service. The Fluidmaster fill valves are much more reliable, better built, and less expensive.
