It does its job.
I used a Nikon AP8 to embarrass surveyors. 1,200ft level loop and we hit 0.000ft with an AP8. I actually impressed myself. If that doesn't make sense to you, i'm REALLY GOOD with a "builder's level". Weapons of choice are the Nikon AP8 or Sokkia equivalent. I've been using this the past week and, all i can say is, it works.Okay, giving credit where credit is due, it's rated at 700G if impact. That exceeds the Nikon or Sokkia by far. So if you have apes using your auto level, this is DEFINITELY the one you want. Out of the box, 0.000ft +/- 0.001ft (1/16th in = 0.005ft) at 100ft. So it's twice as accurate than the rated 1/32in at 100ft.Where it fell short for me is rain protection. Rain got on the lens and made visibility low contrast (pencil on wood) impossible to see. ONLY when the lens was wet. No water damage as it's 100% rain proof. The other thing i didn't like is the center of the crosshairs was perfect but the ends were blurry. 99.9% of the people won't even notice this. My boss, another layout guy, didn't even notice this. Conclusion, tradesmen with apes will appreciate the durability of this instrument. Surveyors, stick with the ones we're used to. I don't think this has stadia lines either.
