CrucialP310 SSD 2TB M.2 2230 NVMe PCIe Gen4 Internal SSD, Up to 7,100 MB/s, Compatible with Steam Deck, ASUS ROG Ally, MSI Claw & Microsoft Surface, Solid State Drive - CT2000P310SSD2

I bought this to upgrade my new surface pro elite from 256Gb to 1Tb. I was a bit apprehensive as comments on some video's said some ssd's did not perform well so I decided to go for a Crucial drive having always had good results in the past. I put the ssd in a Ugreen caddy and connected to the surface usb c to c. I then discovered I could not use Acronis clone disc as it does not support ARM chips. I however downloaded a free trial version of macrium reflect for ARM 64 bit. So easy to then clone the drive and extend the partitions (videos online show you how). I then took the drive out of the caddy, installed a copper heat sink (kits on amazon) on the drive. After fully shutting down the surface i popped off the drive cover (magnetic - push on the dimple). Using a torx T3 the drive screw can be removed and old ssd wiggled out. New one is just gently pushed in and cover plate snaps back ontop. Having attached the power supply the surface just booted as normal when the switched on as if nothing had happened. Only difference is now 1Tb and faster read/write speeds - see photo.

It's definitely an upgrade for anyone using devices that support it. Additionally, the drive runs cool, which is crucial for devices like the Steam Deck that tend to heat up during long gaming sessions.Overall, this SSD has dramatically improved my gaming experience. The performance is outstanding, and the installation is straightforward. If you’re looking to boost storage and speed for your gaming device, I highly recommend this SSD.

Yep it allow me to have all my steam deck compatible game on the go

Quick and stable storage. Need to handle as a drive, so you have to format it on a pc to get ready use as a USB drive.

Excellent little SSD and was purchase to use in a tiny fanxiang M.2NVMe 230 hard drive enclosure I recently purchased. It’s not as quick as some of my bigger SSD’s I have but also quicker the some I have owned. So far very happy with my purchase.

Perfect drop in replacement for the steam deck

Got this in the spring sale. Upgraded my 256 steam deck to 1 tb with no issues whatsoever. To save faffing about I used Balena Etcher (free) to clone the existing SSD to the Crucial mounted in a uGreen extenal SSD case. It was then a case of a straight SSD physical swap with no need to use recovery image etc. Steam Deck booted with all my installed games but now with 1tb of storage.Performance is great and the extra space is useful.
