Outstanding ultralight rod
Update 10/26/2024——-This is turning into one of my favorite rods. Great ultralight that really launches light lures. Been using a very small Rapala original floater, casts that thing a mile. The reel is smooth and the drag is also good. All around great setup and combo.————-This is a really nice rod and reel combo. Great ultralight setup. I have it spooled up with 6lb test and I would say this is a moderate action with a fast tip. Can really fling light lures well. The reel is like a 1000 size. Good for 2-6lb test. Good drag and it reels very smoothly. This is a killer setup and I use it for trout and panfish and it is great.

Very budget friendly ultra light rod
I wanted some new fishing gear to use while traveling in my camper van. I really like how small and compact this setup is.It's well made, and is very suitable for catching small to medium-sized trout as well as other small gamfish.

Very nice budget setup
I got this for the guests I have over to my cabin on the lake. I have my nice fishing gear that I don’t want others to use so this was a great way to allow anyone to fish at my cabin. I put on 3lb test monofilament and a little Mepps spinner and was catching perch, sunfish and some rather large rock bass without any issues. Definitely would recommend

Pole broken after 30 min
Overall the reel seems to work well. It spins smoothly and worked well while I was using it. However, after a short time (30 minutes) I hit a snag and tried to free the lure attached to 6 lb test line. I pulled back and the tip broke off. I've done this hundreds of times with my other poles and have never had a problem this quickly with a pole before. The tip is fairly lightweight, but I was still surprised that the tip broke before the line. If this poll was a little more resilient, I would have added two more stars.

This Company Frustrates Me So Much!
To start with this is the 4th reel and 2nd rod I've gotten from Sougayilang. The reels have all been perfectly fine for the most part, especially for their price. They are pretty much just Daiwa copies, even down to the very similar logo. So there's no real complaint with them. I would still buy another reel from them with no problem. However!! Their rods are always twisted! The first eye on this rod, which is very important on a spinning rod, is roughly 30* twisted to the left. My picture doesn't show it very well, but it is immediately noticeable in person. I think I might still be able to use the rod, but it is so misaligned that it is definitely right at the limit of still being usable. My other rod from them had the lower part of the split handle misaligned by an entire 90*!! They get so close to having a good product, but because of a complete lack of quality control they let these extremely messed up rods make it out. I don't know if it is laziness, lack of effort, not taking any pride in your work, or what. If they would just put a little bit of effort in their work and implement even just one person for quality control they could drastically cut back on stuff like this happening. Anyways, the top part of this rod is fine, the reel is quite a nice reel, and the lower part would be fine if it wasn't so misaligned. This had the potential to be a really nice UL Crappie rod, but unfortunately is barely usable as it is. I guess I'm finished with my rant now. They do have a return policy for regular buyers, so if you are willing to take a chance then I would still say go for it. You might get lucky and actually get a good one.
