Works great
I was a little concerned about this DCM-202 modem after reading the reviews on the heat and also firmware upgrade for Comcast ISP. However; after finding the unbeatable price with rebate from Amazon.com, I decided to buy it. I prepared all the new Firmware 2.01 upgrade before the modem arrived and spent 10 minutes to upgrade the firmware when I received the modem. I did not upgrade the 2.01 firmware successfully the first time but I did upgrade successfully the second time. There is no issue whatoever with the modem. There is only some issue to register my modem the 1st time and it took a second phone call to register it. Perhaps I called Comcast to register my modem before I upgraded the firmware for Comcast customer. I could have given it a 5 stars but the firmware upgrade took a small effort so I give it a 4.5 stars intead. Anyway, highly recommend the Dlink DCM-202 cable modem for the price, performance, and the small footprint.

Works great w/ Time Warner cable! (EDIT: make that sometimes)
I set this up, called Time Warner to give them the MAC address, and it was working instantly! I connected it to D-Link's DIR-615 wireless-N router, which I and a lot of other people have had terrible trouble with before, and as soon as I plugged it in, the wireless network was working too.I bought this modem to replace the crappy no-name modem Time Warner gave me that just plain would not share an internet connection no matter what router or hub it was connected to. I would urge anyone who's having trouble connecting a D-Link router to their modem to try this modem, because they have no problem talking to each other.UPDATE: MAY 2012Two weeks after I started using this modem, our internet connection began dropping out at random. We soon figured out that we could usually get it to come back by rebooting this modem, which unfortunately required walking across the apartment to unplug and replug the AC adapter into this modem. We had to do this at least once every couple days, sometimes every couple of hours. We had repairmen from Time Warner come out to the apartment several times to take a look at things, but they were never able to find anything wrong. At the time, we blamed TWC for our internet access woes.Last year, I moved to another location, and we got our internet from TWC once again. This time, the technician plugged our router into the generic modem that TWC supplies, and everything worked perfectly right away. No router issues, no internet access issues, no dropped connections. In the year that we've lived in our new apartment with our new generic modem, the internet connection has died once. Compare that to dying once a day on average!I purchased this modem used, so I cannot speak to the quality of a new unit. I also cannot rule out spotty TWC service in our old apartment as the root of the problem, although the service technicians assure me it was not. This modem's going in the trash.

Typical D-Link quality.
The wifi failled on my laptop so I got this for ease of use to get wifi back up. By using this I didn't have to replace more expensive laptop wifi board.

Worked as expected with Comcast
I was looking for a cable modem to work with my Comcast account. The product reached me on time (before Comcast pulled the plug on my previous modem that had reached end-of-life) with pretty good packaging.Product installation was straight forward. Wired the modem using the documentation provided, called up Comcast to register my new MAC address (listed on the modem) and I was up and running. Its been running for nearly a month now with no resets and has been good so far.

Lightning Fast & Simple To Use!
I must say my experience with this modem couldn't have been better! Perfect sync was achieved within seconds of attaching the appropriate cables. As for the previous reviewers comments about the modem running hot, I can only say that mine runs 24-7 and it's as cool as a cucumber! D-Link has very good telephone support so if you should run into any problems I'm sure they'll be able to help you out. In any case, I became curious about the DCM-202 after reading numerous press releases and technical reports with regard to Texas Instruments "TurboDOX" chip technology which is integrated in this model. Let's just say you won't be disappointed! Although your broadband connection speed will be limited to your ISP's provisioning you'll notice faster page loads and much improved audio and video streaming. I wouldn't say it's "20X" faster (as mentioned in D-Link's advertising) but definitely an improvement versus a conventional modem. Prior to purchasing the DCM-202 I was quite happy with my Motorola SB-5100 (an excellent modem!) but in comparison I have to rate the D-Link's overall performance as superior.

Buggy
Dropped connections and generally unreliable in our brief experience before returning it to the seller. We purchased a used one so maybe the used one we got was faulty and other units would work better. I wasn't a fan of the design anyway so instead of replacing it with the same make and model we went a different direction. Was on the phone with the Time Warner Cable tech for well over an hour trying to diagnose issues and get it to work when she said she was sure the modem was faulty. Went with a uBee (Ambit) U10C018 instead and it's worked very well for nearly a year now.

Easy
It works with Cox... only needed to give them my MAC address and I was up and running in no time. No complaints for the frist few days. I'll update if I have issues later. Running with a Netgear router over Ethernet, no issues. Bought because I love my Dlink NAS, and I've known lots of people have issues with the Cox-reccommended Motorola modems.
