Smashbox Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder, Dark, 0.5 Ounce

I LOVE the Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder, however the item arrived in very poor condition! Marks all over the Smashbox packaging, powder everywhere! The thing that bothered me most though was that the container is VERY noticeably SCUFFED and scratched up all over the top (see PICTURE 3). Definitely not a brand new item! The small blue sticker inside the compact placed over the powder slots that is supposed to keep the powder inside is too small and didn't even cover all of the slots properly which is the reason for powder all over the place, losing valuable product.But despite all that, the Halo Perfecting Powder itself is really nice! It's goes on very smooth, it's super lightweight and doesn't leave my skin looking dry or patchy since I do have very dry skin. You can use it by itself, but it's pretty sheer coverage. I did my normal routine, moisturized with lotion, face primer, foundation and then applied the Halo Perfecting Powder to get a nice flawless finish. The twist top design was easy to turn and great for picking up only the amount of powder needed. I have very light/fair skin with pink undertones and ordered the Fair/Light which was just slightly darker than I needed. I'll definitely be ordering this in a shade lighter next time. There was also a sample of the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer included to use with the powder and it is amazing. My face feels so soft and smooth!Overall, I'm very pleased with the Smashbox Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder, but have to account for the condition in which it was sold to me. Had it not been for those issues, I would have given this item 5 stars hands down.( Update: ) The twist top broke while turning it, resulting in the spring shooting the powder compact out of the container and all over me, my chair and the floor. Thought of keeping it until that happened. Returned the item due to the poor quality.

UPDATE: This is my second and last try purchasing Halo from Amazon. The product came used AGAIN. There is usually a blue seal, which protects the bottom portion of the compact...it's where the "shaver" resides, which is used to create fresh loose powder. When the product is new, the blue plastic seal is undisturbed and there is no powder residue. However, this product came with the blue seal disturbed and powder, so I knew it was not new. I ended up purchasing a new compact from Sephora instead. I will no longer purchase Halo from Amazon due to lack of quality control.Smashbox Halo has been my go to powder for years. It offers good coverage while making the skin look more luminous. However my last purchase was a disappointment as the powder came USED. Upon opening the box, the compact box was dusty as well as the compact itself. When I opened it, the protective film covering the powder had been removed but placed on top of the powder and it was covered in powder. The blue film is usually difficult to remove so someone had to have removed it and used it. This is VERY unsanitary as used products should not be sold again...especially as new and for the price paid. This item was purchased through Discover Beauty Supply.

I really like this. Originally I ordered one color darker but it was darker than expected. So whatever color you think you need, order one lighter. I love the twist to dispense feature so it's always fresh and not dried-out; makes less mess while traveling too, you don't have loose powder getting everywhere. It leaves the perfect finish on my skin, not matte, not shiny either. It also makes my skin feel soft.

First off, I love this product! The product is amazing and deserves 5 starts. I have been using it for about 4 years now. First time I purchased it on amazon, everything was great. This time however, I was sent the mini size "halo to go" powder which is only 0.25 oz, and not the full 0.5 oz size. The little plastic bag around the product was even mislabeled as 0.5 oz so I'm not sure what is going on. I am returning this product and will not be buying it on amazon anymore.

I LOVE this product and have been buying and using it for a few years now! It makes my complexion look smooth and blends in perfectly with my neck color. I add a little blush to my checks and it is perfection. Wow! I also love the way one turns the base and fresh powder is finely crushed and ready to use. I just wished it lasted longer. I guess I just go through it too fast. I keep a supply at both my home and my mother's. I wish I could buy it in bulk (more than one at a time) and get some kind of discount. Do these ever go on sale?

I love this powder and have been using it for 5+ years. I usually buy at Sephora or Ulta, so I was happy to find it on amazon & not have to go to the store or pay shipping! I use this over foundation as a setting powder, but I’ve also used it on its own for lighter coverage. It doesn’t oxidize for me & although I have an oily face in general, this keeps the oil minimal. Definitely one of my makeup musts!

I hope they make this product forever! I use it as an alternative to cream foundation -- just a light dusting evens my skin tone, controls shine, and leaves me looking just a little dewy througout the day, unlike other powders that make my skin look crepey. I'd give it 10 stars if I could!

I use this powder over my Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream (fair) and, it is absolutely beautiful. I am in my late forties and have rosacea with dry and sensitive skin - still beautiful. I waited a long time and kept reading reviews plus went forth and back between this product and others like it. So, I am very glad that I finally took the leap and purchased this product.

I have used this product for years. It is light but gives really good coverage. If you are fair then use the light powder but would recommend it.
