Lonely Planet Moscow (Travel Guide)

The guide is perfect to drive you to every interesting place in Moscow, to let you know how to travel, where to eat, etc.I won't make it too long: just let you know that this is THE GUIDE if you visit Moscow.Having said this, I do not recommend to buy the Kindle version, because it is not easy to use as a computer version would be and you cannot see the beauty of the photos included in the guide, since you lose the color and precision of the images. Besides, once you buy the Kindle version, you cannot download it. Consequently, my recommendation is : Buy the guide, but not the Kindel version.

I was never disappointed by a recommendation, and a couple of them became my favorite stops on the trip.

The travel guide is easy to read and has enough valuable information without overwhelming you.

We have just come back from Moscow, and I am afraid to say that quite a few very important details in this guide were wrong. While the general Welcome and Understand Moscow sections were very informative and general site descriptions were great, the entry ticket prices and the practical overview of the city centre were a bit misleading. For anybody going to Moscow on their own, please mind that the Kremlin complex is closed on Thursdays, or as this guide puts it, it is open Fri-Wed... Also, please double check individual museum websites for prices. I have always relied on Lonely Planet guides, but I think that this guide needs a bit more research and editing. It might need some more practical, relevant and up-to-date information, such as current entry ticket prices, best time of the day to visit, how to use the metro, safety in public spaces, etc..

Decided to buy this because it seemed like the most up to date guide book on Moscow, even though it was a bit more expensive than the competition. Overall, very pleased with it - used it extensively throughout my one week stay in Moscow for tips and recommendations and especially the walks listed in some chapters. Would recommend!

Great guide book

Good book. Larger than other pocket sized lonely planet books.

Haven't gone to Russia as yet but planning for 2020. I find this book very helpful and am using it to plan my trip. It has great descriptions of all the sights. Also a good pull out map that is easy to follow. I would recommend this book to everyone planning a trip to Moscow.
