Style over substance
I love Moleskine notebooks - but this is fairly useless. There isn't anywhere near enough space for main course recipes. There's no need for eighteen pages for Appetisers and Cocktails - and why is half the book just blank pages. And stickers that say "Hate this"? Why do the makers think anyone would make a note of a recipe they cooked but didn't enjoy? There's potential for this to be a fantastic recipe notebook but it needs FAR more room in which to write them and less gimmicks.

For the book geek, a necessity
I am a bit geeky when it comes to books. I love reading them, discovering them, but I also love talking about them. For a long time, I have been adding reviews of those that I have read, here on Amazon, but then I came across this book journal and decided that it would be a nice idea to also keep a written record of what I have read. After a fair bit of deliberation, I chose the Moleskin journal, rather than other book journals. Now that I have had this one for a while, I will definitely buy another once my current one has been filled. What is so appealing about this particular journal is that it is so well produced. At the very beginning, there is a section for planning events - I have used it for making a note of any literary festivals that I am interested in, but you could also use it to record the dates of your book club. Following this, there is then the main section where you record the novels that you have read. These are organised alphabetically - I have decided upon listing them alphabetically by their title. For each book, you are able to record title, author, author's nationality, publisher, date that you read it, original language, quotes and your own opinions, to name but a few. You are also able to award each book a star rating. Following this, there is then a section of blank spaces, before 7 totally blank pages to end. The covers are sturdy, and the pages are of good quality; I haven't tried using a fountain pen, so can't comment on whether there would be any bleeding through to the next page. On the inside of the back cover, there is a concertina compartment, which contains labels: these could be utilised for the two end sections, as the labels are a mix of headings such as "Events", "Online Bookshops", "My Library" etc., as well as smaller labels which have things like "love this!", "wish list" or pictures of stars etc. The finishing touch is that the journal has 3 ribbon markers, so you can easily mark different sections all at once.Overall, this is a very well designed, and well created book journal. For anyone who loves reading, this would make a great gift. It is an easy way to organise and record your thoughts, discoveries and events relating to literature.

Beautiful and useful!
I've researched many notebooks, both to give to a newly engaged friend or relative and now to use myself in helping my sister with her wedding planning. This one is my absolute favourite. I have to admit to being a Moleskine fan anyway, but it was a long time before I realised they made a wedding journal. The cover is really beautiful, with an embossed design. The sections in it are ideal. Each page is numbered and there is a list of contents at the front, to which you can add your own items if you need to. There's a lovely slim notebook inserted in the pocket at the back for the bride's dress etc, which she can carry around with her if she doesn't want to carry the book. Although the book isn't heavy, and it's a good size for the average handbag, so you could easily take the whole thing. I guess the insert means you could share the rest with the groom! The paper, as always, is light but with a lovely surface for writing. I definitely recommend this one, it covers everything and it's such a pleasure to use!

Struggled to find info on it before buying but glad I did
Gift for my partner. Struggled to find info on it before buying but glad I did. Sections for different types of recipes (main meals, starters, sides, etc) plus some blank sections. Sides has a key so you can mark time, cooking method, rating, etc (even wine pairing!)Solid cover, very glad I went with this rather than cheaper ones

Ideal
When I was growing up, my mum had a faded old book of favourite and collected recipes, which I always envied. Well mum, I might not have your cooking skills, but my little book of recipes is much more awesome, so essentially, I win.The little tabs to separate starters, desserts etc are useful, and I particularly like the blank tabs you can customise yourself. The paper and the cover are of very good quality, and the book as a whole looks great. It also has an index at the back, and little stickers you can use that say things like 'Favorite!' 'Delicious!' and 'Thumbs down' (although if you don;t like a dish, don't put it in the book). It also has very useful compartments into which you can put newspaper clippings, takeaway menues etc. I'm very pleased with this, and will hopefully keep filling it up for the rest of my life.

Great quality...well made!
Quality of the book is excellent and pages are a good thickness. Love the information at front of book given about the yearly cycle of fruit and vegetables etc. My own disappointment was the size of the book. Probably my own fault for not fully reading profile before buying. Note for next time. Other than that cannot wait to fill with some family recipes to give to my daughter for her to continue to complete.

Moleskine ..... Not perfect but how could it be?
I love Moleskine. Who doesn't? These new books are the usual mix of style and luxury and a simple joy to use. On the plus side it's a treasure of lots of different sheets to fill in for Bars, Resaurants, cafe's etc. Some are double page epic analysis of the chosen location and other pages are 10 to a page scribbled musings with a 'out of 5 stars' score at the end. So my only moan would be I think they should condense and stick with one format. Maybe a single venue to a page. The double page review is too much. The 10 to the page is too unstructured and no fun. So my only request would be this 1 review to a page and keep it in a single book. The little stickers that come with the book are fun but superflous to need to be honest.
