Great Value for money at £319, upgrades needed
The config i purcased for the £319 was the ryzen 5 7330u - 8gb DDR4 - 512gb NVME, 16" WUXGAwith the exact notion of upgrading the memory and the SSD myself, most places online state that 16gb is the top for this board as 8gb is soldered on and cant be removed however thats not true, I fitted 16gb on top of the 8gb and its running in a asynchronous Dual channel state and showing all 24gb, Runs very well, the only thing i did not think i would need to change is the Wifi Card, its got a Mediatek wifi 6 card that is seriously underperforming, test fitted an older intel Ax200 card and its night and day. After christmas ill invest in a broadcom 1200ac and ive got zero issues with the system at this point.Normal laptop keyboard, nothing to write home about, trackpad is a bit cheap but works well, i mostly use a logitech MX Master anyway, screen is great for a daily driver and light gaming but for anything to do with image or video editing id want better.Again its all about what you pay vs what you get and for what ive spent so far including the upgrades its still way cheaper than the competition options at £499 for simalar specs.hope this helps

Great laptop
Great laptop that balances budget, looks and size. It’s still a fairly chunky laptop and heavy - wouldn’t recommend to travel with but great for general admin duties at home, playing games or watching films. The screen quality is excellent and found it does not slow down with a number of apps running. For the money you can’t go wrong at all.

Great budget machine, watch out for the WiFi gotcha on Windows 11 reinstall
Lovely laptop for the money. Good extended height 16:10 1920x1200 anti-glare 60hz IPS screen. It has 300 nits brightness, but it's not really colour accurate with only a 45% NTSC colour gamut. Not a big issue if you aren't doing colour accurate work, but this where the savings have been made by Asus, along with the smaller 42WHrs, 3S1P, 3-cell Li-ion battery. Runtime is adequate if not gaming. The keyboard has chiclet keys but it's still comfortable to type on and has a number pad. The privacy cover on the webcam is neat. The AMD Ryzen™ 5 5625U Mobile Processor 2.3GHz (6-core/12-thread, 16MB cache, up to 4.3 GHz max boost) has an integrated Radeon 7 vega graphics which is capable of 50fps in Fortnite and GTA 5. All this is powered by a 45w PSU.Ports are:1x USB 2.0 Type-A1x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C support power delivery2x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A1x HDMI 1.41x 3.5mm Combo Audio Jack1x DC-inFor £300 this is a great value productivity machine or light gaming machine. Recommended.--------------Some tips when replacing the SSD on this laptop. I built a windows 11 install USB image and booted up from this on the new blank SSD. Windows 11 setup could not find the WiFi, therefore couldn't proceed beyond that screen. The solution (also used for creating local accounts):On the "Let’s connect you to a network” page, use the “Shift + F10” keyboard shortcut. In Command Prompt, type the OOBE\BYPASSNRO command to bypass network requirements on Windows 11 and press Enter. The computer will restart automatically, and the out-of-box experience (OOBE) will start again.Quick note: You will need to select the region and keyboard settings again to get to the network connection page.Click the “I don’t have internet” option.Click the “Continue with limited setup” option.Create a local account username and password, rather than a Microsoft account. Then when you install the drivers, you must use the mediatek drivers for both WiFi and Bluetooth, rather than the Realtek drivers. Your m1605ya can now connect to the WiFi!
