Amazing product to learn the Periodic Table of Elements! Kids don't have to wait until high school to start learning these 118 "foundations" of the world.

Im very visual and tactile. Its great. Plus its good for grown-ups taking Chemistry for the first time.

Hard to walk around class without elements shifting sometimes but it usually holds alright. Good educational use. Wish it was bigger.

Terrible! Board is impossible to decipher unless you already have the periodic table memorized.

My grandson LOVES it. Easy for him to identify elements and put in order thanks!!

We homeschool and my son is doing chemistry this year, so I thought this would be a fun way to learn. It looks pretty cool and I can't wait to give it ago with him.

My daughter is just fascinated with the periodic table so I have several examples of it - posters, an acrylic representation of some of it, etc. This is probably my favorite representation out of them all.First of all, when you go to open it, it has a white piece of stock paper over it, so don't be fooled that it is just a whiteboard. It's not. Underneath that paper is a printed version of the periodic table. In case you're wondering - this is a completely up to date table (as far as I know) to include the more recent additions:Moscovium (Mc) - added in 2023Nihonium (Nh) - added in 2016Flerovium (Fl) - added in 2011Livermorium (Lv) - added in 2011Tennessine (Ts) - added in 2016I had personally wondered if the 2023 addition would be there, and it is. Helpfully (in my opinion), there are also 2 "blank" tiles in order to add more if you have the need at some point. Good idea!You can use each tile in one of two ways - on the "back" with simply the name and most frequent use (ie, "Helium" with a picture underneath it of balloons and then the printed word "Balloons" under that). Or you can use it on the front, which contains the most information about it. For instance for Helium again it states:2He4.0026representing the Atomic Number (2), the symbol (He), and the atomic mass (4.0026). On the board itself then, when you go to attach it, there is even MORE information.I'm so impressed with the amount of information about each section they managed to squeeze out of this! They got the front and back of each tile, and then the board itself in on the information-giving game! Good job and great use of space.You can hang this up one of two ways - they included a "rope" (they are calling it a lanyard) that you can use to place through the already-punched out holes on the board, or you can use the fact that it's a magnetic board to place it on a surface like a white board or refrigerator. Also well-done. We are using the white board to great effect! LOVE it there, and it gives the class a chance to come up and show off their knowledge.Why might it be important for kids to learn the periodic table anyway? Well, there are many reasons why it's a great tool to have at least some knowledge of:STEAM is an important part of general knowledge both in school and in life - that knowledge is useful general knowledge with various real-world applications throughout life. The periodic table also presents an organized system that requires kids to think critically and make connections between different elements and their properties - like metals, nonmetals, and metalloids. This knowledge is a necessary component for study of chemistry, physics, and other STEAM subjects.By arranging elements in a logical pattern, the periodic table enables kids to predict how elements will behave in different situations, such as reacting with other elements or forming compounds. It also shows kids how elements are used in everyday life - from metals in electronics and construction to nonmetals in fertilizers and medicines. This helps them appreciate the relevance of chemistry to their daily lives and could help to develop a deeper appreciation for the natural world and the scientific method, fostering a sense of curiosity and inquiry. The scientific method is a huge part of our education as it gives a step-by-step process for not only scientific decision-making, but life in general. A good logic flow just helps.Studying the periodic table lays the groundwork for more advanced scientific concepts like atomic structure, chemical reactions, and molecular interactions. Knowledge of the periodic table is essential for careers in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM).By studying the periodic table, kids can gain a fundamental understanding of the building blocks of matter and it can enhance their abilities to think critically, affecting their decision-making abilities and logic flow via the scientific method.Be aware - there is no included storage for this, so when you're not using it.... I don't know what you do to store it. Wish it had come with a storage solution like a vinyl bag or something. It does not, however, and it's kind of big and bulky (although the pieces should stick to it so that part of the storage should be fine). It's just going to be a permanent fixture in my classroom I think, but not everyone will want to do that.Overall this set is educational, and it can help enhance the learning process and hopefully encourage scientific curiousity in other areas of STEAM - science, technology, engineering, arts, and math - and I think it's a GREAT price for what you get here! It's just so versatile and packed with important information. I'm very impressed with the quality of this, too, and the various ways that you can use it. Highly recommend!

I really wanted to like this one especially since this is the second periodic table that I've had to return. The magnets slide around a little bit and I have a bit of OCD with that but I could have gotten past that if the stickers on the magnet weren't so delicate. One of them tore while I was still taking them out of the perforated magnet sticker thing that they were in.
