Great quality - worth the money
An awesome set of earphones. I have tried many different models across all prices ranges and for me, these are simply the best. The in-ear fit is comfortable and seals nicely in the ear. The sound quality is fantastic even when compared to other earphone in this price bracket. My tip is to buy the clear model and not spend the extra money on the coloured versions, I have had both, why would you pay more money just to have them in red or bronze?

These are good.
I use these for the gym, with an after market Bluetooth cable, linked to an iPhone. Yes the sound quality does drop, slightly. But let's face if you're listening to MP3's, they're not lossless, so you're not 'looking at' high end HiFi. However, the 535's still make a very, very good job of it.Now if you're into upper end HiFi: quiet room, very expensive 'front end' etc, etc, perhaps these would not be on your radar. Albeit again they do a very good job of it; see the "Innerfedility" review.

Brilliant headphones, but you'll need a decent amplifier (see my Feb 2017 update comment)
2015 comment:I'm actually not that impressed with these headphones. I've had a pair of Senheiser IE8 for over 5 years (now IE80) which are amazing, with plenty of bass. I decided to spoil myself with a new pair of earphones, but also the Senheisers experience a lot of wind noise when I'm out running, and these Shure's are "noise isolating". The Shure SE535 are indeed noise isolating, and do a much better job at getting the music to my ears during running, meaning that I can have the volume lower. And the sound quality is perfect too. However! The bass is seriously lacking. I can't believe that there are three drivers in there. Sure, it has no problem rendering low frequencies (Black Eye Peas Boom Boom Pow is my test track) but there's no power to the bass at all. You have to have music turned up quite loud to get any tonal quality to bass.So I won't be throwing the IE8's away any time soon!

Ear bud stopped working
I bought these in 2019 and now the right ear bud has stopped working. Is it worth buying a replacement part or just order new ones ? As a busy musician thought they would last longer so a bit disappointed as these are not cheap

Slightly overpriced but not bad
Just bought it, so can’t tell you anything about the reliability in a long term but I can certainly review the sound quality and fit, and compare it to some other earphones.Right now in front of me I have Shure 535, my old Klipsch x10i, Etymotic er4xr and Apple AirPods. So it’s probably more earbuds than an average person has at their disposal at the same time therefore I believe this review can be useful for others shopping around. How do the 535s sound? –Not bad. But I wouldn’t say they are mindblowing or more exciting than any other pair of earphones mentioned above. These Shures deliver less detail and resolution than the Etymotics but more bass and a broader soundstage. To my ears they actually sound quite similar to the Klipsch. At the same time the AirPods offer even a broader stage and hold quite well in comparison to the more expensive earbuds. In terms of sound isolation these Shures are better than the Klipsch but not as good as Etymotics.Comfort - better than Etymotics but but less comfortable than Klipsch or AirPods.Fitting - fiddly as most of over the ear earphones. At first a real pain to fit in and out but you get used to them quickly, and in a few days it’s less of a problem.Generally I would say they sound like a pair of decent £100 earbuds, certainly not hi-end, don’t be fouled by overexcited reviews.I will keep updating this review from time to time while using these earbuds so if there’s any reliability or quality issue you’ll read about it here.

Great Quality, Bad Longevity
Although the initial quality is very good and solid. The stem of the connector broke with ease on the SE535, I spoke to the team and respectable they said I would have to provide a receipt of which I did not have (lost). I was impressed by the sound so got to the SE846 as a present (with half of the input by me), and no matter after a year or some the connector had broken off inside the input port and reported this back to Shure and they would not even look at it. These are £900 headphones, quality is great but the service is poor as regards to my situation. Absolutely loved these headphones hench investing over £1300 into the company, but have had no help in response. Missing using my SE846s and currently using the Right earphone from SE846 and the left earphone from the SE535, and now the cable is providing feedback in both earphones!

Amazing sound!
I have owned a few pairs of shure earphones and I love the fit of them but more importantly I love the sound quality. I paired them up with a DAC (chord mojo) and used music from Tidal and the sound is unbelievable!!! My dad tried them and he felt like the orchestra was playing in front of him… the clarity and fullness of the sound is out of this world

Highly recommended
These are expensive and I really had to think long and hard about buying them. However I am so glad I did as they are stunning. So much detail and really clean crisp sound. Not really worth spending this kind of money if you listen to mp3 's on your phone though as you wont get the benefit.Highly recommended - makes me want to listen to all my music with my new ears. I get long bus journeys on my travel too and from work so they do make these journeys a little more tolerable. I have some noise cancelling headphones too and I don't really miss that function as the isolation of these headphones seems to work as well. Just buy them if you can afford them.
