Theres a few things we need to discuss about this piece. I ordered the set of 2 that were 41.3 inches each. We have a corner in our room that has a lower section of the ceiling for the duct work. Right in this corner is where my wife has her bean bag chair to read. We wanted something to fill the whole space. I was able to take the 2 of these and put them together to fit RIGHT over her bean bag chair. The instructions and tools that come with it do work. However a drill is faster if you are careful when tightening.If you opt to use a drill you will have to go out of order of the instructions. It wants you to go top to bottomA,B,C,B,D,B,C,B,A.I found that with the drill it was easiest for me to goA,B,Cthen skip down and connect B and D together before attaching B to CSo anytime that you already have a shelf added you wont have room to fit the drill but if you skip to the next step and then backtrack it goes much faster.If you look at the pieces as well you will notice that A and D are actually the same piece. The only difference is that A has holes on one end of the board and D has holes on both ends since it is a middle piece. I was able to use a 1/8 drill bit and drill 2 additional holes into one of the A boards to combine both shelves together seamlessly. When lifting it to place it on the wall it is going to feel very flimsy. Once it is anchored to the wall it is very sturdy.I will attach photos of the instructions to help you understand better the order in which I had to go to use the drill. The Allen wrench provided will work but you will be annoyed.

Great quality! Putting these things together was a pain, not difficult per se but time consuming. We ordered the largest size. The whole thing is put together using a hex key and in tight corners where the pieces line up, so it doesn’t allow for a particularly fast build. However, sturdy and great quality. The finish is thick and not easily scratched, and once up on the wall they are aesthetically pleasing. Great value for the money!

Easy to assemble. Great for light books or decorations.

They were a bit hard to put together because I don't have a kitchen table. But in the end, they worked. I made one the regular size, one was 3 pieces shorter and those 3 pieces made into a 1 shelf corner unit. I used them to put in the corners next to kitchen cabinets. No screws into the cabinets. They are all strongly attached to the wall and firm. All of the shelves are level. The only thing I wished is that they would have come in a honey oak color to match the cabinets. I went with a dark wood as contrast because I could not get the oak.

These shelves are awesome. They look good in my office and hold my displays well. Can support small bottles (375mL) of fluids, display multiple cards, and I'm sure so much more. If it fits on the shelf it can support it. Once assembled and mounted they are way more stable than you will expect.
