Blooming fabulous coffee
What you really want to know is this - does it make good coffee? Well, I have owned a Francis Francis expresso machine and a top-of-the-range Gaggia which even ground its own beans, and frankly, this is better coffee and easier to make. Not only that, but it takes up far less space and can easily fit in a bedroom or living room as it is so stylish and has its own water reservoir. My Francis Francis machine only made expresso size, so if I wanted more, I had to make a double. With this red beauty, you can choose two cup sizes: expresso (which is the standard tiny amount) or a larger size which is enough, with the frothed milk, to make a mug of cappuccino. In summary, here's why I love this machine:1) It makes truly good coffee (not anything like instant and a lot better than filter cafetiere coffee).2) There are a lot of coffees to choose from. At present, in addition to some specials on the Nespresso website there are the following (with Nespresso's descriptions): 5 Intenso blends - Kazaar (intense and syrupy), Dharkan (long roasted and velvety), Ristretto (powerful and contrasting), Arapeggio (intense and creamy), Roma (full and balanced); 4 Espresso blends - Livanto (round and balanced), Capriccio (rich and distinctive), Volluto (sweet and light), Cosi (light and lemony); 3 Pure Origin blends - Indriya (Indian, powerful and spicy), Rosabaya (Columbian, fruity and balanced), Dulsao (Brazilian, sweet and satiny smooth); 3 Lungo blends for when you want an standard-sized cup - Fortissio Lungo (rich and intense), Vivalto Lungo (complex and balanced), Linizio Lungo (round and smooth); 3 naturally decaffeinated blends, which are decaffeinated with water, not with chemicals as so often is the case - Decaffeinato Intenso (dense and powerful), Decaffeinato Lungo (light and full-flavoured), Decaffeinato (fruity and delicate); and three Variations i.e. flavoured coffees - Vanilio (vanilla), Ciocattino (chocolate) and Caramelito (caramel).3) The machine looks fabulous, as you can see.4) It is really easy to use.5) Nespresso will pick up your empty pods and recycle them free when you make a new order.6) The milk frother is fabulous. It takes about 1 1/2 minutes to froth hot milk and less for cold milk. What's more, you can get it started at the same time as making the coffee i.e. you don't have to wait for the coffee to pour through before frothing, so they can be ready together.7) It only makes coffee. Yes, this is a plus. If you want tea, get a tea bag or leaves and a teapot. You don't need tea in a pod. If you want hot chocolate, buy Green and Blacks cocoa, add one teaspoon to a cup or small mug with one teaspoon of sugar, heat milk in a pan, a microwave or the milk frother, mix slowly into the dry ingredients and you have fabulous hot chocolate.8) Last but definitely not least, it is cheap. Yes, it is, considering the quality of the coffee and the cost of espresso machines that don't always last very long. And for the quality of the coffee even the pods are good value if you buy direct. So go on, get one…. you know you want to.

Great machine but..
I am a coffee lover, and I enjoy enormously preparing my own with my Delonghi coffee maker. I had long resisted a push-the-button machine, but this too soon came to an end after my wife was offered nespresso cups whenever visiting her friends, and got addicted to the stuff. This resulted in a birthday present for her, which arrived promptly after ordering. I have to say now after a few days using it, this is a pretty good coffee maker; its fast to use, and easy to clean, very well built, and looks very attractive on our countertop. The variety of coffee pods available from nespresso means you are likely to find the right one for you.. eventually. I have started off at Ristretto and Roma, and anything else fells a bit weak. Nespresso suggests some pods will deliver fruity or sweet tastes, which I fail to distinguish at all. Consider an incremental budget if you are planning to down several cups from this machine a day. The aeroccino operates conveniently attached to the base and can work simultaneous to the expresso maker, so its efficient and tidy; however, from a performance standpoint, it has room for improvement in preparing a silky texture to the milk (I use very cold semi-skimmed). The temperature of the drink is not quite right either, so if you like a very hot drink, consider you will need to pop it into the microwave for an additional good 30-45 seconds. In my opinion it will not beat Costa, as others have suggested. Overall I give it 4 stars based on current performance and quality of the drink, and would hope to see the aeroccino device improve for next generation coffee makers addressing both texture and temperature.

Amazing coffee!
I love nothing more than waking up in the morning to a good cup of coffee. The Nespresso machine gives me just that. It's extremely easy and simple to use - pour cold milk into the aeroccino up to the required line with the correct whisk attachment, place the aeroccino onto the stand and press the button. Whilst this is happening, I run some hot water through the machine and into my clean glass by a press of a button. Once the milk has heated through, I pop a capsule into the top of the machine, shut the lid and press the correct button depending on the amount of coffee I require. I add the milk to my glass, sit back and relax! The machine is also very, very easy to clean and take apart. Most of the trays clip on and off so that they can be washed easily. The parts fit together well and I feel the quality and design of the machine is high. The quality of coffee which you receive from this machine is very, very high. The crema which sits on the top of the coffee is excellent, it looks rich with the creamy top layer. The milk is perfect every time - not boiling, as this is not what the aeroccino is designed to do, but nice and warm, an ideal drinking temperature.I've not had to contact the 24/7 Nespresso helpline, so can't comment on that aspect, although a friend has and reports that they were excellent, very helpful and friendly.Ordering capsules online is quick, easy and simple. Their website is easy to navigate around and simple to use, even for the less tech-savy people. This would be my preferred option over telephoning my order through.Overall, I would thoroughly recommend this machine to the coffee lovers out there. It's well worth the money for an excellent cup of coffee, however you take it.
