Cuts like butter...
The bit is awesome. I used this to trim my own window stools, because I wanted more flexibility than using the standard ones sold at the big box stores. After using this bit, I am more than happy with my decision. The bit is useful in cutting 3/4 inch stock, but in doing so the ball bearing guide does NOT stop the bit on the edge. I used a hand-held router and needed to set up a guide edge to get a consistent cut. If you don't do this, then this will just keep eating into the wood. If you have a router table, however, you should be good to go. I recommend this if you plan on doing multiple new window stools, or if you do your own woodwork. *As always, make multiple passes so you don't burn out your router*

Great bit to give professional look to window stool ends.
Bought this to finish route a few stools. I buy the pre-routed stuff by the foot at the lumber store, but after cutting to size, need to finish off the ends. This cutter is not exactly the profile of the story bought window stools, but close enough, provided you don't cut into the leading edge of the store bought stool. Straight and sharp, really sharp. Haven't quite figure out how to use the bearing on this thing. I use a fence setup and run the radius of the router base against the fence.

Excellent for window stools and shelving edges.
I would like to start by mentioning my failed attempts to find a bit of this capability at multiple reputable wood working shops--one of which is an authority on Freud products! They told me that this bit didn't exist. Anyway, I purchased this bit for use with my router table in order to make custom window stools for my basement finishing project. Production window stool stock was too narrow for the thickness of a block wall plus 2x4s and sheetrock. I did not want to join two plates, so I took wide poplar stock, planed it, and finished it off with this jewel. It cuts clean and smooth and now my custom stools match with the standard ones in the rest of the house. I plan on using the rest of my poplar stock to make some shelving for my garage and will edge it with this bit.

Its a FREUD. Enough said. Awesome.
BEST money ever spent...on a bit. Period. A decent, or even just mid-powered router with an awesome Freud bit is ALL most folks will ever need. While I'm just a pharmacist-hobbyist, at best, I still like buying the best of stuff regardless of how many times I might ever use something. One-timeproject for mom. Cost no object. Money well spent by ANY standard of measure. Nice design & cuts like hot knife thru butter. ONLY problem I now see with this.... its become a solution-looking-for-a-problem and more projects to play with.

Great Window Stool Router Bit 99-462 by Freud
I am very disappointed with the packaging. I have six Freud router bits that were shiped in hard plastic two piece storage containers. This bit was shipped in "clamshell" cut and cuss packaging. This bit hogs out a lot of material. I did experience a little chatter hand holding the router through a cut however the end result was more than satisfactory. In the future I may put a larger guide bearing on the bit for a first pass cut and make a second pass with the standard bearing. Mounted on a good table, chatter may not be a problem.Overall, another fine tool bit from Freud.

Works as advertised
This was the very first router bit I've ever used with my new router (Bosch 1617EVSPK). Although I made common rookie mistakes, I was completely pleased with how well it formed my 3/4 inch poplar boards used to replace the ones my dog chewed. I used the bit with a routing table and had some elevation issues at first, but once it was set just right it formed a perfect edge. I look forward to using it for other jobs in the future.

Works Great!
This is the only router bit I have ever purchased so I can't compare it to others but I can tell you that it cuts smoothly and with little pressure to push the router along the wood. Maybe I should say it makes a novice look like a pro. I also can't say how long it will last but I don't see any reason why it wouldn't last me for many years.
