Very powerful, will work with anything I throw in there. One Caveat: It does not have something stopping a user from accidentally unscrewing the jar from the bottom when in use or full of liquid. Why would one do that? By accident! It can happen. Always lift the whole thing up, do not twist to detach.

Very sturdy and powerful. Love the glass container and the fact that it pulses on its on. We use it for smoothies and margaritas. Crushes ice very fine, quickly. Great buy!

I purchased this product in 2019. It worked fine at first, but after a year or so I started having problems with the blade assembly, as others have noted in the reviews. First, I began noticing black plastic flakes on my countertop each time I ran the blender, which seemed to be coming from the plastic components in the blade assembly. Even worse, I noticed a brown, oily-smelling leakage into the jar (possibly from a blade assembly lubricant?) while cleaning the unit with water. Not exactly what I want in my smoothies.The manufacturer replaced the original blender as it was still under warranty. However, I experienced the same problems with the replacement blender, which apparently was not covered. I definitely would not recommend this product and will be looking for another brand.

Bought for 1000 watt motor to make smoothies with frozen fruits. Large frozen strawberries challenged it. After 6 months the blade shaft became eccentric, the coupling under the blade assembly started oozing, then metal shavings coated the gear base (see photo). Called DeLonghi with my complaint, requested a replacement blade assembly. They surprised me by offering to send me a new motor unit and blade if I emailed them a picture of the base with electric cord cut off from the base. No charge, not even for shipping. Their logic was that if the motor was defective, a new blade might not solve the problem. The new blade shaft is much sturdier than original, better built. I can recommend this blender as a fine product, and DeLonghi/Braun for honoring their warranty beyond my expectation.

I love it

I researched several blender before purchasing this one. This blender seemed to fit my needs very well and it worked exceptionally well at the beginnin. I've had this blender just under 9 months and it started acting up last month. Fluids from the smoothies, etc. started leaking from the glass container through the blades into the main unit below, plus a milky/oily substance started leaking from the motor on to my countertops from underneath the blender. The blade has loosened up within it's housing to the point, pressure has to be applied to the glass container for it to work properly. I had to stop using it as I'm afraid it will disintegrate and explode inside the glass container. I had such high hopes for this blender as it worked awesome right out of the box. It states it has a two year warranty and I've contacted the company and I'm waiting for their reply on how they intend on taking care of this. I will update this review and possibly the rating based on how the company decides to handle this matter. So far... Very disappointed with the quality of this blender.

**UPDATE- 2 months later (July)I'm updating my review because two months after writing this one, the blender just seized up while making a smoothie. The blade part seized up ad the blender began to smoke. It doesn't work now. We only used it for two months and mainly made smoothies - with soft ingredients like yogurt and fruit. We did not use ice or anything else hard that might cause more pressure on the blender. It is disappointing since it was a great blender until this happened. The part is $10 and shipping is $6, so we could replace it and hope it won't happen again. But for a blender that is about $100, I expected it to last longer than 2 months without any issues.Original Review (May):This is an awesome blender. It has a thick glass carafe and a sleek design. The buttons are soft touch surface buttons - don’t stick up or out. There are minimal button. Speeds 1 to 3, chop setting, smoothie setting, and pulse setting. They are all shown as icons or numbers. The power button on the side looks like a computer power button.It is easy to clean. It has a very modern look of mainly silver and black. It works really well - very powerful. It is very sturdy, works well, and is easy to clean. Highly recommended.

Using to blend chiles for Mexican dishes. Needed a strong blender.
