Classic comedy for the completest
Dad's Army is a national treasure, the four recordings presented here feature some great comic moments. The two "Night with the Stars" mini episodes are agreeable enough, and bring Christmas Cheer to all those who listen. A Stripe for Frazer is, as described, an off-air recording of the soundtrack to the wiped BBC TV episode. The quality of this is understandably poor, but it is listenable. However, I describe is as for completests only because the same episode was remade for Radio, and is available on the Dad's Army Radio Series discs at a much higher quality, and (slightly) rewritten for radio, so it makes more sense as audio, as there are sight gags that we obviously miss out on.The final skit (The Boy Who Saved Britain) is a very good homage to the show, featuring Jimmy Perry (and also a younger Barry Cryer providing a very good (german) butler). On the whole, a very good release well worth the low price, and coming soon - the boys are back :)

Dad's Army 'The Lost Tapes' CD.
This CD contains 4 'missing' audio recordings of programmes that were believed no longer existed. A Christmas Night With The Stars 1968, A Stripe For Frazer 1969, The Cornish Floral Dance from Christmas 1970 and The Boy Who Saved England 1995, this uniting the cast 'one last time'. The tapes may have been wiped but thank goodness someone saved the soundtrack !!

Once gone, now found...
Great to see a lost tv episode brought to the ears once again. This would have been even better as audio and DVD. Bring all missing episodes back to life with animation. Radio episodes or tv surviving soundtracks would have been great to use. Doctor Who episodes that are missing have been done this way. Why not give this super classic show the treatment.

Too much canned laughter
Absolutely awful, only managed to listen for a couple of minutes due to all the canned laughter and clapping every few seconds.

Wonderful chance to hear 'new' Dad's Army
Brilliant product, full of gems from the BBC archive. The only sad part is being unable to see the pictures, but fortunately the writing and performances shine through regardless. I would highly recommend this CD to lovers of Dad's Army and fans of archive television and comedy alike.
