Can multiple detectors be paired with a single receiver/chime, or does each detector need its own receiver? If so, what is the communication range?

Multiple detectors can be connected with one buzzer, multiple detectors can be connected with multiple buzzers, and one detector can also be connected with multiple buzzers. The communication range is 500ft (open area)

are they all different frequences? - if I buy 2 will they interfee with each other ?

If it is the same unit, I would guess same frequency. You might just get 2 alarms going off!!

Can I order an extra chime?

I've read you can get extra chime, but it is very loud. It may even be better to get a second unit if you want an extended area.

Can I point this down? Need to put it above a door and wondering if it can point completely down.
