UPDATE: All Good. PREVIOUSLY: Perfect in many ways but I got a lemon
UPDATE: My original order for this laptop (see ORIGINAL REVIEW below) resulted in a laptop which I returned to Amazon for a refund as the laptop had a problem (see below). I waited about two months and again ordered this laptop as its specifications still best fit my needs. I have now had this newer laptop for a week and all seems as it should be and I have therefore decided to keep it. So far i am *quite* happy...ORIGINAL REVIEW: This seems to be a really excellent laptop but my unit had one catastrophic flaw; The laptop would reboot itself at random times, once in every 24 hour period (but not at the same time). Following Asus supports advice I reset the computer and that did not solve the problem as the unit still rebooted itself once in every 24 hour period. I ended up returning the laptop to Amazon which gave me a full refund (Thank you!).I was really disappointed as I really liked the laptop otherwise. The rebooting, once every 24 hours but not at the same time, started immediately after I go the laptop. Only one of these times was i actually sitting by the laptop to see it blue screen and reboot. It was not an orderly controlled shutdown for an upgrade but a blue screen and it reboot itself.I wrote this review because I saw that another reviewer had a similar problem. My guess is that there is/was a bad batch of these in inventory (I bought mine on about November 16).I am seriously considering buying another as this model almost uniquely suits my needs better than almost any other laptop model and hope my experience with the first one was a fluke as I really liked the laptop otherwise. If I do buy another then I will wait awhile so that any bad inventory is cleared out and I will be quite careful to make sure it does not have the same problem...

$1400 waste of money
EDIT: after having used this laptop for a few more months (about 8 months total now) I'm convinced it's the worst thing I've ever purchased. I'm so upset I wasted an entire month's salary on it. In addition to the problems mentioned in my previous review, now the laptop has started crashing randomly, multiple times per day. If you're the type of person who likes to continue working while your computer is charging, don't bother with this piece of trash. You'll get the blue screen of death every time, and when windows says it's trying to run diagnostics, the percentage stays at "0%". Even left the laptop on overnight to run diagnostics once and nothing happened. It remained at 0%. I'm so upset.Previous title: This laptop is only good for writing essaysI've had nothing but problems with this laptop since I got it a few months ago. The battery *can* last 9 or more hours, but only if you have the touch screen turned off, the brightness on 0% and you're not doing anything but typing or browsing the internet. The laptop regularly overheats and freezes up, especially if you charge it while using it. I've noticed that it freezes less if I make sure to turn it off each and every time I finish using it. It charges quickly-- which is good. It's also lightweight but it's hard to use (and I'm no novice). Moreover, the computer's RAM doesn't clear. Whenever I close a program, the laptop still acts like it's running (even if I "end task"). I uninstalled a program and that program is *still* autostarting on this computer. I never had that issue before when I used the same program on my previous computer. I tried "deep cleaning" the computer by shredding all temporary files, but that didn't work. The laptop is already slow because it's not clearing old, unused files like a computer should. Ugh. I bought a $1500 paperweight. Oh yea, the quiet fan is indeed quiet, but it's not powerful enough to actually cool down the computer. What a waste.

Battery :-(
This ZenBook is a great design. I love the compact size, the design, color, the 4K resolution, ease of use, Biometric reader and speed of the processor. However, the product is marketed to have 10 hours of battery life and I was getting 5 hours for just web surfing and minimal photo editing. That was a deal breaker for me, so I returned the laptop.

Works well, light, bad surface
This laptop works well and is very lightweight/portable/silent. However, the screen is small since the keyboard is lifted. Also the major glaring flaw is that the surface of the laptop is made terribly. It gets horrible smudges and marks all over which are still there after washing. It comes in a fancy box like it's a luxury item, yet the outside surface is cheap. It constantly looks dirty. If your only concerned about function, it functions well.
