Best power/weight laptop I could find, no complaints so far.
Update: Been using for almost 6 months and no issues yet. Never crashed, battery has been as good as can be expected, durable and the little aspects like the touch-pad and back lighting have been great. I have twice hit the power button instead of delete, so still not a great design idea, but probably my biggest complain so far.Only had for a few days, but so far, no real complaints. The setup takes forever, but that is more of a windows 10 issue. Battery life is great, speakers are lacking a little, screen is beautiful, keyboard is sold and back lit. Touchpad is unusually nice. I generally hate touch pads, but actually don't mind using this one. Another reviewer mentioned accidentally hitting it while typing, I haven't had that issue, actually the opposite. Purposely hit it while typing and the cursor doesn't move. My only minor complaint is the hinge could go back a little further. No issue when at a desk, but when using in bed propped up with my knees, it won't go completely parallel with my eyes, only about 5 degrees short, so not really an issue. Also came with its own travel case which is nice and sized perfect.I have been in the computer field for 30 years and travel with 1 backpack, so something powerful and light was a must. Not many out there in the same field, especially with the weight, so this so far seems about perfect. Also for other backpackers, I got this universal charger and it works great to charge the laptop. $1400 waste of money
EDIT: after having used this laptop for a few more months (about 8 months total now) I'm convinced it's the worst thing I've ever purchased. I'm so upset I wasted an entire month's salary on it. In addition to the problems mentioned in my previous review, now the laptop has started crashing randomly, multiple times per day. If you're the type of person who likes to continue working while your computer is charging, don't bother with this piece of trash. You'll get the blue screen of death every time, and when windows says it's trying to run diagnostics, the percentage stays at "0%". Even left the laptop on overnight to run diagnostics once and nothing happened. It remained at 0%. I'm so upset.Previous title: This laptop is only good for writing essaysI've had nothing but problems with this laptop since I got it a few months ago. The battery *can* last 9 or more hours, but only if you have the touch screen turned off, the brightness on 0% and you're not doing anything but typing or browsing the internet. The laptop regularly overheats and freezes up, especially if you charge it while using it. I've noticed that it freezes less if I make sure to turn it off each and every time I finish using it. It charges quickly-- which is good. It's also lightweight but it's hard to use (and I'm no novice). Moreover, the computer's RAM doesn't clear. Whenever I close a program, the laptop still acts like it's running (even if I "end task"). I uninstalled a program and that program is *still* autostarting on this computer. I never had that issue before when I used the same program on my previous computer. I tried "deep cleaning" the computer by shredding all temporary files, but that didn't work. The laptop is already slow because it's not clearing old, unused files like a computer should. Ugh. I bought a $1500 paperweight. Oh yea, the quiet fan is indeed quiet, but it's not powerful enough to actually cool down the computer. What a waste.

4.5 stars. Generally Perfect.
I am very satisfied with this laptop even though I did return it. The 4k UHD screen is definitely incredible. And it is probably the slimmest and lightest model I have ever had these years. The hinge design is not only unique but practical as well. Keyboard and touch panel feel good but nothing fancy. Despite and pros, the battery life is a serious problem. You can imagine how fast one charge will wear out with a 4k design and an i7 processor. It does get better after I switch into 1080p resolution tho. But the display quality also got sacrificed. The only reason why I returned it is that I found a better price elsewhere.

Works well, light, bad surface
This laptop works well and is very lightweight/portable/silent. However, the screen is small since the keyboard is lifted. Also the major glaring flaw is that the surface of the laptop is made terribly. It gets horrible smudges and marks all over which are still there after washing. It comes in a fancy box like it's a luxury item, yet the outside surface is cheap. It constantly looks dirty. If your only concerned about function, it functions well.

Excellent travel companion,
I had an old HP Pavilion note book before purchasing this Zenbook. I am quite impressed by the weight, how light it is and quality of the notebook and the picture. I am however concerned that the battery life, it discharges quickly than one would expect.
