Lonely Planet Central Asia (Travel Guide) Paperback – Illustrated, June 19, 2018

I am using this Road Scholar recommended travel guide to prepare for my forthcoming Silk Road trip. I'm finding lots of good information.

Very detailed

Unfortunately this is 2018 travel guide, and it’s now 2024. But since it’s a less popular destination, it’s the best i could do.

Excellent book for these countries

Lonely Planet travel guides always include useful information on what to see and when to see it, sleeping accommodations and history. The Central Asia book met all the criteria.

I really enjoy reading this book so far!! I love the pictures and the information it brings about this part of the world!!! Highly recommend it!

So helpful for my recent trip, as always. Well researched, interesting, good history and need to know stuff. Go to Kyrgyzstan.

Some of the information is outdated, and at present tourists are not even being allowed into Turkmenistan, but there really aren't a lot of viable alternatives. At least the information will give the traveler a good idea of what's there, even if a lot of the details are old.
