Good Enough to Get the Job Done
I received this SYMNTEM Telescoping Magnetic Pickup Tool Set in September 2024. The set I received matched the pictures and description on the Amazon product page. I have purchased similar tools in the past at a similar price point from local hardware stores and the quality of this SYMNTEM set is on par with the locally purchased tools.3 of the tools have built-in LED lights which are not rechargeable and instead use button type batteries. One of the tools takes (3) LR44 batteries. Another takes (2) CR2032 batteries. And the final one takes (4) LR44 batteries. Two of the tools have a protective insulator inside the tools that you have to remove before first use in order to allow the lights to receive power from the batteries. I like that this was done to ensure the batteries didn't drain before I received the tools. The tool with the rectangular mirror is the one tool that worked out-of-the-box without needing to remove any kind of insulator on the batteries. The LED lights were not super bright however I think they are good enough for lighting up very dark areas. There is a blueish hue to the light emitted from the LEDs which leads to them not being as bright as other LEDs lights I have which give off a whiter hue of light. The product page does not advertise a specific lumen level for these lights so I won't deduct any stars for this. Just don't expect to be blown away by how bright the lights are and keep your expectations low.In terms of magnetic strength of these tools I think it is sufficient for what these tools would likely be used for. I tested the tool with the light at the end and a bendable goose neck and I was able to fully extend the tool, and then attach the base of it to a metal bar such that the tool was fully extended parallel to the ground and the magnet at the base of the tool was strong enough to support the entire tool like this. I did a similar test with the tool which has the round head that you twist to turn on its LED light and I attached the magnetic head of it to the metal bar while it was fully extended parallel to the ground and the magnet at the head of this tool was able to support the weight of the tool when it was positioned like this. The diameter of the circular mirror is about 2". The dimensions of the rectangular mirror (including the plastic enclosure it is in) are 3-1/4" x 2". The mirrors are your typical glass type of mirror and they looked fine to me. I didn't get any kind of weird skewed fun house type of mirror effect and objects I look at via the mirrors look correct and true to life.Overall I think this is a good set of magnetic pickup tools. If you are looking for tools like this I think they are worth considering.

Need one in your tool box
Where do you do a lot of projects or not? You definitely need one of these in your toolbox, you will always drop something in a place where you can’t find it or reach it. This magnetic tool along with the light has been a godsend. I’ve used it all over the house for several different things and it works perfectly good value for the money.

This is neat
Review for: Magnetic Pickup Tool, Christmas Gifts for Men, Telescoping Magnet Pickup Tool with 3 LED Flashlight, StockinThis is a neat, handy item to have around the house or in the toolbox. I always drop little screws and stuff in the darkest corners and having a flashlight with a magnet as part of it will make finding them easier. This comes with a barrier on the battery so you have to remove it before the flashlight will operate. It's not the brightest light but it works fine. They have a clip to clip it to your clothes but I think this is a bit too heavy for that, better to have it in a drawer. They include extra batteries. But they are in a tiny case, so I will have to keep the box in order to keep track of the extra batteries. It would be better if there was a soft case for it that had room to store the tiny battery case in. It would be much easier if this had rechargeable batteries like many other tools that I have now.The case is nicely made, the threads are a little sensitive when unscrewing the flashlight end, but pretty normal for aluminum. This would make a nice gift for a handy person, who works on cars or anything else with metal connectors, nails, etc.As a Vine reviewer I try to provide good information. My scale:Most things will start at 4 stars. It gets that extra star only if it is outstanding. It loses stars for issues- bad sizing, poor quality. One star if is is not suitable for purpose or for gross misrepresentation.

Handy features.
I already have a small telescoping magnetic pickup tool but it lacks two of the features of this tool. One is the flashlight and the other is the flexible head. Inevitably if I work on my motorcycle I end up dropping a piece of hardware that disappears into everything that's attached to the frame as well as frame crossmembers. There are lots of dark areas and the flashlight will come in handy. Also, being able to bend the head is a plus. The flashlight head (which contains the magnet) is pretty large. That can be good and bad. The good part is that it's a larger magnet ring and you are more likely to find what you are looking for. The bad part is it may be too big to get into some places. For those instances I'll have to use my small pick-up tool but for most jobs, this will be my go-to tool. Also, something they don't mention on the product page or the instructions is that the bottom end of the tool is also a magnet. It has a smaller diameter than the head so you might find yourself using the non-lighted end if the lighted end is too big.It comes with 4 extra LR44 batteries which is nice. Also comes with a pocket clip. It's fairly heavy so if you use the clip it will likely be on a pants pocket or a tool belt pocket.
