Top Class "2xAA battery" Flashlight
Yes it is expensive but it is the best. Simply the best in its class.I am collecting flashlights as a hobby and in the 2xAA category (as well) the Fenix LD20 is clearly a winner. You could be getting more brightness in other models but you cannot beat the quality durability and duration of a Fenix. It is the Mercedes of 2xAA flashlights. It lasts longer than competition, it is provenly durable and its design is gracefull!Just open it, unscrew it, look inside and compare any other flashlight with it. Well known brands look cheap next to it.All light modes are useful and well thought. The duration is simply unbeatable on 2 AA eneloop batteries and very close to the specs. I highly appreciate the fact that i can use plenty of accessories with this model. Just think how much value is added to your flashlight, compared with competition, when you use a dozen of dedicated difusers, filters and other useful goodies! My only wish was to have an 'instant on' button switch. But hey, this wish has been added in its successor -the LD25- which was recently introduced. The LD25 has also a mode switch on the body! Wow! When the crisis is over i will certainly upgrade:)In summary the LD20 is an extremely durable, useful, elegand, practical, most dependable and of course a must have EDC flashlight. Along with the 1xAA LD10 the elite of the AA batteries small flashlight market.

Pretty dam good
Its really bright and well made torch. The build is good, the price is good, the light is good, the strobe is awesome. But it would be awesome if it had focus able light.Haven't tried to submerge it in water . Yet.

An impressive piece of kit
I had read about these new generation torches and seen the adverts, I have been a die-hard Maglite user since the 1980s, but thought it may be time to upgrade.I work in one of the front-line emergency services so I need a small, powerful torch which is robust, reliable and simple to operate one handed. I also prefer AA powered torches because I can pick up replacement batteries 24 hours a day at any petrol station.I got this torch yesterday and used it at work on several occasions today for the first time. It has a reassuringly heavy feel and the mid setting outperformed my trusty AA Maglite straight away, operating it is best described as intuitive and it feels like an old friend very quickly. I particularly like the shielded on/off switch which prevents accidental activation in the pouch and finding your torch batteries are exhausted or nearly so, just when you need the torch the most!A lot has been written about how good the torch is, but even the pouch is excellent, it has a solid loop which can slip over the buckle of a standard utility belt. There is also a second Velcro secured loop which, can be used with the attached D ring to secured it to a shirt or jacket with the pre-Airwaves radio loops, If you are using the supplied pouch, it is best to remove the clip and do not attach the lanyard as the whole lot will not fit in the pouch without careful packing. If you are not using the pouch, then the clip is very sturdy, strong and will securely clip the torch to any thickness of fabric. The torch and accessories form an impressive piece of kit which has been carefully designed and well thought out. I am so impressed with this torch that I am seriously considering buying a second one to replace my home torch.Very highly recommended

Sadly, it broke
This is a very powerful torch. The beam is very strong and is great for outdoors. Also, when we had some electrical problems indoors the torch could light a whole room.Sadly, the tricky switch system (rotate head, combined with soft-press of the button) broke, meaning the torch could only turn on set to it's dimmest setting. Also, there is no beam focus - but there is a strobe which is unnecessary.I have replaced this with a Ledco Lensor LED7009 Lightweight Poly Carbonated 2 x AA LED Torch , and I am very happy with this so far. Simple on or off, and you can focus and spread the beam. And it's half the price.

Very good
There are a myriad of makes, manufacturers, designs and prices of torches out there to choose from. I specifically selected the Fenix after some comprehensive research. It is a mid-way torch, i.e. not the dearest but equally not the cheapest. I have used the torch for several months and it is a great product. I keep it in my daily work bag for ready use. It has a simple 'click on' button and twists to change the focus and beam. Once you get used to the different modes it is ideal for everyday use. The pouch has different methods of attachment to a belt, although I generally tend to slip mine into the side pocket of my rucksack so I have not tested the belt carry. If you want a robust, lighweight torch with a good beam and variable focus you cannot go far wrong with the Fenix. On this basis I also bought the key torch from Fenix which is equally good.

Best torch I have ever owned bar none.
I used to use incandescent torches and never really got into LED torches as the LEDs used to break easy. Really old tech. Was looking for a new torch, did my research and come across this make and model. I can not rave about this enough. It should be part of any kit, car, shed, kitchen, home, out and about. 180 lumens max (!), yep I had no idea what that meant either but it's bright. 6 different brightness and flashing modes. 100 hours of runtime at it's lowest settings which is as bright as my old maglite. It really does light up an entire back garden. It uses just 2 AA's batteries and can easy be carried in a coat pocket which is were my is. Comes with a nice tight fitting carry case with Velcro grip over, a lanyard and a tight fitting metal clip. Can be attached and used anywhere I guess.I would recommend this torch for everyone and at the price I paid £39 it's a bargain. Ignore the RRP at £100. Marketing BS. It really is worth about £39.This torch will hopefully last me a lifetime.

Expecting more
This may be waterproof, but it is very expensive for what it is. I'll buy a Maglite next time and save money.
