Great telly for the price. Just be sure to update before trying out the smart features
The picture quality is fantastic. a clear step up from my previous telly. The sound quality is great. My front room is not massive and doesn't require a sound bar but I can hear it clearly from my kitchen with no distortion. The base was a bit fiddly to put together but is nice and secure and will do the job until I get around to wall mounting. The TV is so smart that it relabelled HMDI as Chomecast when I plugged one in...took me longer than I care to admit to realise it had done this.Make sure you update to the latest firmware or some of the smart features will not work.Am looking forward to connecting it to my Alexa, when all the apps decide to work.

A great TV, excellent picture and sound
Really pleased, the TV was really easy to set up, picture and sound excellent. The smart features are really good and it pretty much identifies anything you plug into it. The only issue I had was the instructions for the remote, they're weren't that clear, but a quick call to Toshiba and I was sorted. All in all a great TV

AVOID DO NOT PURCHASE, FAULTY AFTER A YEAR!
When we first purchased I was not impressed with the picture quality at all, but we kept it think the HD will make up for it. It was awful, Freeview channel went crystal clear but Sky/Tv apps was crap. We carried on and persevered thinking it was maybe the set up we had! The kids bedroom TV's we brought cheap from Tesco were better picture quality. Then last week whilst my elderly relative watched TV she heard a pop and then the screen displayed lines running vertically and horizontally on the screen. I have today contacted Amazon who put my in direct contact with Toshiba, I sent them photos via WhatsApp as requested to be told an engineer stated it has been hit on the screen causing the lines, the crack at the bottom so he states is damaged from direct contact and is not valid for warranty claim. The fact it was just my elderly mother in the room I'd like to know how she came in contact to hit the screen when sitting down watching a programme, the crack you see is under the screen with no damage to the top screen at all. We keep it in fab condition and this is not a result from being hit but again we can't win thats that! NEVER AGAIN will we buy TOSHIBA. I would avoid as they are crap with customer service, poor picture quality and fob you off. Go elsewhere!

Fiddly set up but worth the effort.
Ok so the biggest issues with this tv is the setting up. The first is the stand. It’s a bit of a nightmare with little fiddly screws in little gaps. It does take some messing about. The second is the in screen menus. If you are used to Samsung, Sony or LG, the Toshiba menus are no where near as intuitive and I am pretty tech savvy. Once you have figured them out and got everything how you like it you don’t really need to mess about with them after that. I bought this tv to replace a similar sized Sony one stolen in a burglery and cost twice as much. In all honesty through there is no real noticeable difference in picture quality. The only difference is that the blacks are ever so slightly not as deep. My principle picture source is the UHD sky box and on actual UHD programming it is superb. I also do tend to spend the extra money on better quality HDMI cables but still don’t break the bank at £7. As with almost every thin flat screen tv you are never going to get an amazing sound quality (especially at this price point). It is probably worth investing in an external sound bar. So in short get passed the awkward set up and you will have a great vaalue tv that does everything you need to a high standard.

Great TV, even in East Africa where TV quality is very poor.
A great TV, that was bought for use in East Africa. Considering the poor quality of both Satellite and terrestrial TV , in East Africa, this TV is absolutely amazing. The picture upscaling works perfect with an improvement in viewing quality being 100s%. Viewing was crisp, clear and as good as any HD channel that we receive in the UK. I highly recommend this TV as the technological quality is outstanding and can produce excellent viewing in Africa so it must be perfect for the UK as well.

You get what you pay for
So let's start with the bad things, because they are bad. The on-board software is almost unuseable. There is a high amount of latency with slow transitions between menu prompts, to delays when responding to the remote. Occassionally freezes up and needs to have the power chord pulled and replaced. This has happened since December 2018. I've installed the latest firmware and freezes appear to have gone away but performance is still really slow and frustrating, making it a chore to use.Picture quality is not bad. It had all the buzzwords (4K, HDR, Dolby Vision) and they are there but unless you are working from a single source, the delays on switching between sources (e.g. TV, Playstation) and switching between Picture types, the TV Guide etc all make this a frustrating exercise. I would look elsewhere.

A Supurb TV
I got this TV last year and so far it has been brilliant. The sound and oicture quality is amazing and the menu screen is very easy to navigate. A locely feature is that there are little icons and apps to take you different places (netflic, youtube) and a big Netflix button right on the controller. Of all the TV's i have had, this has been my favourite one. No problems with connectivity and still works a dream.

Don't be put off by reviews. Amazing at this price.
Pleasantly surprised! Great picture, easy setup inbuilt apps work fine. No issues updating after the initial couple of updates (total setup was about 10mins). Was worried by other reviews but don't have anything to complain about. Good 4K netflix picture, good gaming on PS4, no worries.
