2 PACK BUNDLE - Gardman Heavy Duty Seed Feeder , Metal , Wild Bird Feed

Good strong seeming feeders, bought for sunflower seeds after finding they fall out of the mesh kind. They’re quite heavy as might be expected with strong metal components. I like the way they have ‘pins’for the goldfinches to perch on & not bigger perches which in the past encouraged starlings to snaffle all the food. I’m hoping they won’t find these so accessible. They are quite narrow in diameter which makes them tricky to fill when in situ*. I bought 2 x 4 port ones partly so that unused food didn’t accumulate as it can do in the larger ones. I needn’t have worried, the goldfinches took to them in no time at all. I don’t use a feeding pole or ‘station’as it gives starlings somewhere to perch & reach over. (There’s plenty on the ground underneath if they do decide to visit) !*Edit: I’ve had to take 2 stars off my original assessment, as I found that once in situ, they are quite difficult to fill without seed going everywhere. This is because the lid has to be pulled up the hanging loop to open, & the loop is too short to allow it to be pulled up high enough to get good access. I have to take it down to refill it, which is a nuisance. I remember my old one had a flip top separate from the hanging loop; unfortunately I can’t remember the make or where I got it.I’ve twisted a piece of sturdy wire round the hanging loop, to loop round the branch, & that solves the problem, allowing me room to refill without removing it.The goldfinches are loving it.

Well made product, but litters the feed a bit while birds are feeding. So I bought the trays as well that fit under the feeder, this helps stop the birds littering the feed. But the pigeons and collared doves use the tray as a perch. So they make more mess! Got my eye on them though. I will be adapting the trays to stop the pigeons and doves landing and perching on the trays. Other than that I am happy with my purchase. Well made and will last a while I think. Easy to take apart and put back together after cleaning. Birds seem happy too.

The main reason we like these feeders is that you can attach the Gardman dish underneath to catch falling seed. They are well made and we have found that they outlast most other makes.

Excellent product but in bundling the two items together a very strong clear tape was used ~ separating the items and then cleaning off the adhesive took over an hour ~ dissapointing

Good quality and when used with multi-seed they are fine. However, these feeders tend to stick or clog when used with sunflower hearts and the birds can't get to the seed unless the feeders are tapped or shaken so the seed flows. If the tube was of a slightly wider girth, then they'd work better IMO

I was very pleased with my purchase. The feeders are sturdy and very easy to refill. I use Sunflower Hearts on mine and they are free flowing at all times. The small birds love them and I have frequent visitors from Sparrows, Blue and Great Tits and not forgetting Goldfinches. Would recommend.

There good for the price only problem is in high winds they empty on to the floor when the wind tilts them
