I have been searching for more Missionary stories for my Christian Sunday School class of 9-11 year olds. Sadly there are not many modern accounts of missionaries working today and the fruit they are bearing. This little book is a very good supplement to my classes. I feel it is important to give real life examples of the gospel in action. These short stories are very well written and seem to hold the attention of my kids, and provide points of discussion. It is unfortunate that almost all occur before 1950's. Still excellent stories. I wish I had known about this book when my children were young. Good bedtime or devotion time stories. Christian Heroes of the Faith should be known.

This is my favorite missionary stories book! I read these stories to my children and now I’m ordering it for my grandchildren. I also enjoy the excerpts at the end that tell when this story happened and other interesting facts. A gem!

My kids really enjoyed this book being read to them. I am buying a copy to give to a nephew for Christmas. I hope it opens a door in his heart for missions like it has in our family. We have moved on to Hero Tales now that we have completed this book and it gives a little more information on several of the same people as this book. I am really glad we started with this book to introduce missions to our kids. They always remind me to read missions every day and my husband likes to hear them too. And it is thanks to this book being loaned to me by a sweet friend!

Shortened stories of missionaries. Perfect bite-sized bits even for kindergarteners, though you may want to check the content before you read it to the youngest ones, as some missionaries in the story were martyred.

This book is a great collection of stories from missionaries' lives. The stories/chapters are short enough to read to younger elementary kids and it's got my kids discussing what we hear. Excellent!

There are some amazing stories in this book. When I read some of the reviews I thought this book was for kids. But it's great reading for this 40 something year old! God is just so awesome how he works in people's lives. Never ceases to amaze me!

My 10 year old is a voracious reader. She loves this book and marked quite a few chapters that she wanted me to read. They are inspiring, interesting and well-written.

My children love these stories. I use them for both read aloud time and personal devotion time. I really enjoy the character building examples in each of the stories and my children get more excited about missions each time we read.
