Good CO detector: Sensitive/Good Battery Life/Alarm Journal
It's quite sensitive CO detector. I have tested it on candle, oven, gas stove. Pretty quick response. Another things that are really amazing about this detector are:1. Good battery life! Lasts for 3-4 days.2. You can change low/high PPM level notification.3. It has a journal that shows when CO was detected and PPM level. So even when I am not at home, I still know if CO was detected by checking journal.Overall, very satisfied.

Instructions contain all, including passwords.
Read through the instructions while pressing the buttons and you will understand. I used my exhaust tailpipe to test the operations and it worked. I'd been worried about gas fumes from cars in front during traffic stoppages, but there was no reading.I'd set the minimum alarm to 10ppm, with a backwash of 5ppm. The backwash setting allows the up-and-down volatility to turn off measuring when the backwash is reached, but measuring keeps occurring while the reading remains above the backwash and minimum alarm setting. The maximum setting is the danger level, I believe is around 125ppm. I set the backwask to 50ppm, to indicate when danger is reduced sufficiently.I knew all settings were ready for use after I set the time and date. The other settings became clear, good readability, portability, loudness and quality.

a great portable meter for odd places, like in sheds with gas heaters
Was worried about my kerosene heater after seeing some videos, so I bought this to use in my small shed when heated by kerosene. Was surprised how well the heater worked, no CO detected. No ill effects and a wall mounted CO alarm also gave the same response. Now I know I can trust my wall mounted CO monitors, but they aren't as portable as this device

Better than expected and actually detects CO.
Great product!!! Purchased the TOPTES CT-580 three days ago after returning a similar item from a different company that was dangerously defective in that it did not actually read CO levels when tested/exposed to known CO although the alarm test feature still worked (the alarm sounded when you pushed the "test" button). This would lead most people to believe that they were protected when they were not. This item actually works and tested against three different sources of CO gas (i.e. smoke, car exhaust and gas stove/oven exposure). You don't need to, but I would simply read the included 23-page manual while giving it an initial full charge and then easily calibrate it outside (no CO present). Set the date and time and then test away. This is exactly what I wanted, and it is portable for travel. Leave it on standby mode (don't turn it off) and it will detect CO and sound alert if CO is detected. It has been on standby mode for three days and battery is still above 50%. Buy this item if you want a portable CO detector that actually works like it is supposed to.

It definitely worked good to know that I am good

Not for HVAC.
False readings. If you are in HVAC, you can not use this device to check readings at registers. Heat will trick this sensor into reading CO when in reality there is no CO. (Verified with another meter). This is not ok for an honest HVAC tech.

Good quality meter that feels sturdy and gives quick reading
There are a lot of features I like about this meter. It feels like it is built with quality and could withstand dropping it a few times (although has not happened yet), gives quick results, and it has a nice non-slip cover so you can set it on say a table in your boat and it will not easily slip off. I use it when boating as I have experienced a few times where the backdraft during cruising can cause the exhaust to get into the cabin if the door is open. I cannot attest to the accuracy of the unit as I have not calibrated it or checked against other meters, but the readings seem reasonable.
