Channel Master customer service or lack thereof
Received two units, both bad. Purchased numerous items from CM and have had numerous issues with four items to date. Four items out box bad. Now another item has failed in less than a month. CM wants to charge me for shipping. I use to install Over The Air Systems (OTA) for a living. but that was when all there products were made in USA. It seems they have a severe quality control problems. Obviously CM doesn't care about customer service, nor are they willing to accept responsibility for their products. Sad, I had such high hopes for my 48 foot tower.

Best Consumer Grade TV Antenna Rotator Available
This is the one you want for large single or combo TV antenna installations. Heavy duty cast iron. Works great with 5 foot mast. Only use the RCA one for small antennas. Used a HOPKINS 05064 large resin black funnel to make a rotator umbrella to protect the unit from the elements and extend its life. Just cut end of the funnel with a hacksaw and grind or file the end hole until it fits snugly on the mast before placing the mast on the rotator and then glue or tape the funnel to mast directly above rotator. Don't suddenly change direction of the rotator before it reaches its coordinates or its calibration will be thrown off. I found the automatic recalibration made my rotator's coordinates even more off than it was after doing this. It's best to manually recalibrate the rotator by rotating it clockwise until you visually observe it at either due east, west, north or south regardless of what the control box reads. Then pull the 3 wires out of the back of the control box and set the control box coordinates to match your visual observation. Clockwise 0 degrees north, 90 degrees east, 180 degrees south, 270 degrees west or 360 degrees north. Then reinsert the 3 wires into the back of the control box and it will be calibrated.

It is rotating my antenna flawlessly
So far this rotor/drive is doing its job on my amateur radio hex beam.

So much quieter than my old one.
I replaced a 20-year-old Radio Shack rotor. The Channel Master is very quiet (both the inside unit and the outside motor). I love that I can program the unit for different channels (most of my local channels here in the San Fran bay area come off one broadcast tower (Mt. Sutro)--except for NBC which comes from a different mountain (San Bruno Mtn.). Makes it very easy to change direction.

Unit defective did not work a full week.
This rotator was defective and did not work a week after it was placed . We are elderly and had to hire help to place the rotator and then again to remove it . Because the worker could not come earlier we fell outside the window of f returning unit .

WORTH EVERY PENNY
I wanted a VERY reliable rotator for an antenna 'stack' I have. First thing I noticed is this has a pole length restriction of 3 feet out the top of the rotator, which is not surprising since the pole does NOT go thru the rotator like the old models - the pole sits on the top of the unit. I have a round 'omni' antenna at the top of the 3 foot pole with a 12 foot long 1970's antenna approx. 8 inches above the rotator unit itself.Since this is a ChannelMaster, I will expect a long life from this unit. EXTREMELY well constructed unit. Relatively easy install, excellent instructions.

Works
A few things that would be nice is for a rotor to work in conjunction with your TV or even Channel Masters stream+ but it does not. I do find once you get it setup it does work fine you just have to have the channels pre-programmed in. I find the remote is a little slow on responses but everything does work as it is supposed to.I would like to see channel master work with TV manufactures to have an option to do a channel scan with a rotor function to be able to have all your channels programmed in at once.

It arived in very good time
The unit is well made with a better controller than the previous Channel Master I had. This is a good unit for the recommendations given. I am sure it will out last the cheaper units.
