These clippers are amazing. The cut is clean and leaves crisp, smooth edges. I used the seller Japan Super Fine Select Shop because they had a 98% to avoid getting a dupe, something that is apparently common with Japanese imported items. This nail clipper is extremely well made and sturdy. The cutting surfaces are sharp enough to handle toenails, and the file on the underside of the top lever is startingly effective.

Bought this based on a Wirecutter recommendation and just love it. Really easy to use and makes a clean cut. Ended up buying a second one, and a larger one for toenails.

I bought these specifically for the clipping catching, but sadly, that was a fail. The clippers are nice and sharp and the textured surface gives a good grip.

This is a very good clipper. It is very sharp and cuts cleanly and with comparatively little effort. I comes with a plastic sleeve that is both a nail clipping catcher and, I suppose, to prevent keys and other pocket "things" from entangling with the clipper. In use, I found the jaws of the clipper too close/narrow so that I had to work to maneuver my fingernail between the blades to position the nail for a cut. That was annoying but did not prevent getting a good cut. Perhaps, for me, the more annoying small-ish detail that I didn't like was that the blades are a bit too straight. I like **a bit** more curvature in the blades so that the I need only 1 or 2 cuts on a nail rather than 2 or 3 or 4 cuts to finish a nail. The more cuts the more likely to leave a sharp snaggle at the end/beginning of one or more of these multiple cuts. Finally, these clippers do not have a built-in file as many others do. Thus, those snaggles have to be smoothed with a separate nail file or chased with a delicate use of the clipper.

These are perfect. They catch nails well and cut so smoothly. The cutting blades come together evenly on both sides, making them good for cutting hangnails cleanly. The file on the back is as wide as the handle, making it easy to maneuver.I prefer the Large (8cm) size over this size, but my kid prefers this size, finding it easier to handle.
