It’s sad to say I love my bin... but I do!
I was suspect about the price but this is hands down the best bin we have bought. We had initial reservations as the lid stopped working after a few days - turns out we were using ‘used’ batteries. Have had a brand new set in for 4 months and it has worked perfectly. Very easy to keep clean and it looks the part in the kitchen. I love the separate compartments. This really was a worthwhile purchase.

Just Do It
Expensive but worth every penny. This bin has been well engineered and had several design reviews to get to this end product. Very well put together and keeps everything in one place all in a slick exterior.

Lovely size, great concept for separating trash & recycle items.
I really like this bin & it looks lovely at the end of my kitchen island. However, it is very expensive for a bin and I've had the following issues; As mentioned in many other reviews, it takes a lot of batteries. Cheap batteries won't work for longer than a few hours - I use rechargeable ones though without any problem so not a massive inconvenience. It's slightly too short to fit flush against the worktop on my kitchen island and as the worktop over hangs I need to place the bin approx 5 inches away from the island to enable the lid to open. The body of the bin is quite thin and therefore easily dented (especially on the curve). Our German shepherd has a very waggly tail which has put several dents on the curved area of the bin.The retaining ring for the food caddy sits quite deep inside the caddy, so whilst it does the job of keeping the bag in place you need to get your hands dirty to remove it from the bin before replacing the bag (or not use it at all). A retaining ring that sits neatly at the top would be far more practical! The sensor is very sensitive and walking past the bin usually results in the lid flying open (hence lots of batteries!).Having said that, I still love the bin for it's looks and the ability to sort recycling and would probably purchase it again even with the points mentioned above.

Batteries not strong enough
I had high hopes for this bin. We had a 42l sensor bin from Morphy Richards and were very pleased with it, so I took a risk on this larger one to help with recycling requirements. The bin itself is lovely, the sections are a decent size, and you can remove the caddy from the top section to make more space. I liked how the bottom drawer comes out so you can take recycling out easily. Minor issue to begin with was finding bin bags to fit, as the bin itself is wide. I used 60l black bin bags from Tesco, which being black had the added advantage of not being too visible. However, after a couple of days the bin lid became very slow to open, and sometimes failed to open altogether. It seemed to be struggling to have enough power to open the lid with the sensor, so I started using the Open and Close buttons instead. A day later it didn't respond at all. I swapped the Amazon cheap AA batteries out to brand new Duracell Ultra, and a couple of days later the same thing happened. The batteries worked fine in our old bin, so they did still have charge. I just don't think that 6 x AA batteries are strong enough.I am returning this, the whole point of a sensor bin is that you can open the lid with a wave of your hand, and this doesn't do that.

a great all in one unit
Great bin,Sensor is excellent, no need to touch it when handling dirty stuff.Loads of room but bin bags difficult to find (try pely 8518 Pelyclean Extra Wide Bin Liners)Love that recycling and waste all in 1 tall unit, I use the caddy on the kitchen side.Overall happy with this, used it for about 3 months and still on first battery set (used Duracell Ultra)

Self lifting lid.
Bins have come a long way since the plastic swing bin, which always wafted revolting smells as the lid swung, yes this works well, good size compartments, easy to clean, any wet tea bags food etc in the box with a lid, so no smells when you open the bin, flatten any cardboard and there's enough room, easy enough to take the separate compartments to the bin at the end of the day. Batteries last well, ours have been in a few months and still going, I'm going to use re chargeable batteriesas they will last twice as long as ordinary one's. digital count down for lid closing, there is an on/ off switch you can use other closing methods not just the battery. 3 stars for the price, £129.99 really!! it's a bin,I'll just have to get over it. But built well, works well and extremely useful.
