I "inherited" a 5-inch, classic, original orange-tube Celestron from an estate, however, it did not have several accessories, one being a visual back (don't know why). As an earlier review mentioned, there were concerns that the thread pitch on the rear of earlier C5s was different than current smaller Celestrons, and that this current visual back model might not work..I received it a few days ago, and it mounts to the back of the scope just fine - a good, solid fit, with no thread-slop. It does have only the one tightening thumbscrew for eyepieces, star diagonals, etc., so be sure to firmly tighten any large accessories well. All in all, it will help in bringing this old orange girl back to a productive life - would certainly recommend it.

I recently got a secondhand Celestron telescope/spotting scope which is basically a Celestron C5 but not labeled as such. I read online that some of the old C5s have a slightly different thread pitch and that this part won't work on them, which could be very problematic because it's kind of an essential part. Anyway, I'm happy to report that this worked perfectly, it threaded on all the way and Once I put an eye-piece in it I was able to focus it and use it for viewing.Mine is the black tube, black end-cap version that came before the pumpkin orange one, if I understand it correctly. The end caps are identical to the orange model but this one is all black. Serial number is only 3 digits.Anyway, hopefully this review helps someone else get their antique optics up and working.

Does the job... wish it had a rotating capability... feels sturdy and fastens securely... I have used it without incident to date.

Just what I needed to connect my Nikon with a 2x barlow to my Celestron 4SE. Be aware though, connecting this to a 4SE you will need the Baader Planetarium adapter as well.

I purchased this Visual Back to mate to an old Meade 2080 LX5 Schmidt-Cassegrain OTA. Thankfully both Celestron and Meade rear cells are threaded the same, so you can use a Celestron Visual Back on either brand. The second thumbscrew is a nice improvement on earlier designs which had only the one. This way you can be sure that the diagonal is positioned precisely on the light pencil and not in danger of getting knocked out of alignment for falling out.

Chiaramente usato. Scritte scolorita e un mini mini graffietto esterno. Questa volta Amazon ha toppato. Ma il prezzo pagato e l'estrema urgenza del prodotto nonché il suo stock limitatissimo mi fa desistere dal renderlo.
