NOT Exactly Backward Compatible with 2001 J92C (but still a great replacement)
Previous shower: Mira Sport 10.8 model J92C manufactured 02/01.Our new shower functions very well, and we like it (function-wise) (so far). But...although their insides look almost identical, this new one is not quite the same as the old one. 1. NONE of the mounting holes lined up with those in the wall. The J92C had 4, for either three holes or a two-hole stud wall option. 2. This new shower's water inlet is about 3/16 of an inch closer to the wall and a bit off to one side, relative to my J92C installation. 3. My supply pipe has an isolation valve located about an inch below where the bottom of the old shower was. Its upper nut falls inside the supply pipe opening in the bottom of the new shower, where there's a some necessary structure. Mine requires a new pipe about an inch longer (not necessarily the new shower's fault) and, if I could have done it, bent to fit precisely. But, I am not tooled-up for bending 15mm copper tubes accurately and without damage, so I mounted our new shower roughly 3/16" proud of the wall with three tap washers (extending all the other points of contact equally with soft non-porous stick-on chair leg feet). I made a new supply pipe about an inch longer than the original. I was careful to snug up the compression fittings with the new section of pipe aligned at both ends, and without straining the soft pivoting connection between the inlet elbow and the flow valve assembly, all the while making periodic adjustments to the shower unit's position as and if required. No sealant was used in the gap behind, by the way - heed the manufacturer's warning: NEVER seal around an electric shower!Bottom line: It wasn't a 10 minute job.Knocked off a star for the flimsier and cheesier front cover with its chromed plastic and Hong Kong toy-style melted rivetsEDIT: restored the 5th star. Got used to its cheezy "design". Also, I wanted to add that this shower works brilliantly with our old single spray shower head. I have also reduced our mains pressure at the tap (for another reason) and it still works brilliantly. Those negative reviews on Amazon that mention how you can't have hot water and high pressure at the same time show that the reviewers do not understand how electric showers work. The water heaters have either one or two heating elements and whichever one is chosen will always just be full on. You cannot adjust their output. The only means of controlling the output water temperature is by the rate of flow, which you control with the control dial marked with hot and cold markings only. The water heater element is always either full-on or full off.If you increase the "heat" with the dial you are actually turning the water down to a lower flow rate. It flows slower and so is exposed to the heating element that much longer. The reverse is true for reducing the water temperature. The faster the water flows through, the less is picks up heat. The water comes into your house plumbing at a warmer or cooler temperature depending on the seasons. I labeled my old shower's medium and high buttons with summer and winter Dymo labels, and it was handy. It saved the whole bathroom from being sprayed in the summer. On this one, they have changed the labeling on the top control dial for the two heating elements (high power and medium power) with the Eco and High. The Low position still means "off", i.e. no power to the heating elements.Hope this helps people confused by the complaints in the negative reviews. You can't complain about something that is physically impossible.

Does exactly what it says on the box
We've had one of these before so when it came to the end of its natural life, we had no hesitation in a direct replacement. Our electrician / plumber took less than 30 minutes to install and test the new one. Nice shower: not too firece and very quiet.

Great shower
Shower was easy to fit as screw holes and plumbing connections were in the same place as my previous Mira Sport Shower which lasted 11 years. Hopefully this one will have the same longevity. Excellent product.

Works as it should but looks ugly
It's an expensive electric shower which I had to install to replace an older version of the same model. Everything works fine and the fitting was easy but it looks ugly. Now I have to order other fittings to replace white plastic fittings. The previous version had chrome fittings which made it bearable. I tried other models which look better but had to replace the water pipe or extend wirings.

Great shower unit.
Very please with this MIRA sport shower in every way. I had my last MIRA shower for 19 years and it was still working but the casing was beginning to deteriorate.

A good replacement for my 8.5kw shower
My 8.5kw shower was too powerful for the 6mm2 power supply I have so I was quoted between £550-1000 by a couple of companies to chase out walls, etc in order to upgrade the supply to 10mm2. Before I shelled out all that money and hassle of redecoration, I thought I would take a chance & replace my old shower with this less powerful 7.5kw shower. Works perfectly and we hardly notice the difference. At the time of writing, this was the best looking 7.5kw shower I could find after several hours scouring the Internet. I didn't install as I got a plumber to do it so I have given it 3 stars as out to him a couple of hours but that included removal of the old. IMPORTANT he did forget to commission it which caused the shower to have erratic temperatures at the slightest touch of the thermostat on first use. To commission, simply go through each setting starting at the coldest temp and slowly turn up to the hottest. After I did that, it worked perfectly.
