Works very well!
So far so good! This cooler came in yesterday and we started using it right away. We just moved from Texas to Colorado and we are still dealing with heat. Of course here in CO, there is no A/C and as we all know, heat rises. Although not as humid as TX, it's still in the mid 90s here and I want relief. This awesome little cooler kept us cool the entire day/evening. I love the low level noise it puts out, helps me sleep. I love it and am glad I purchased it, not bad for the price!

What I've learned so far
Re: 1-star reviews: I suspect the owners didn't realize you have to turn on Cool mode. Read on.What I've learned so far:You have to press the snowflake button in order to make the unit use the cold water. Otherwise, it's just a fan. It will produce a weak flow of cool air. For a small room, you will probably notice a difference. There's a sensor that dips into the tank, so extra ice packs floating in the water may block it. Ice cubes are fine. The low-water alarm is very loud and cannot be turned off when the unit is in cool mode. This makes it inappropriate for use while sleeping. There's a sleep mode (crescent moon symbol) that will reduce the fan speed after an hour, so there's a chance you can wake up before it runs low, but it should really just let you sleep until it runs out, then go into fan mode. The alarm is why I'm giving this 3 stars. I bought this to cool my study while I'm working, and it's great for that. But I should be able to use it while sleeping and I can't because of the alarm.

Far worse than a regular fan
I should have listened to the other 1 star reviews because it doesn't work at all! The ice packs don't make the air any cooler and my regular fan is stronger, so what is the point? Biggest waste of money ever since it is nonreturnable.

Can't recommend at all
Doesn't do too well to cool a room down. Takes forever to feel any difference. Makes room really humid which will promote mold growth if you don't ventilate the room well so be careful! air only comes out from the left half of the front, the directional shade doesn't do too much to direct the air flow so the height range of the airflow is quite limited. Honestly regretted buying this...

Okay
Cools well. Bigger than expected. Not good for small areas

Works in locations with low humidity and helps air conditioners function better.
I really like this item. It last for a few hours on one tank and as stated it will not cool your house like an air conditioner but it will put enough humidity back into the air to allow fans and air conditioners to do their job more efficiently. The nice thing is you can use this year round, during the winter heaters dry rooms out and this will keep it moist enough so your lungs do not dry out.

Adequate for small space cooling.
Exactly as the item discription says. This water cooler was purchased for our bedroom use. Approximately 300 sq ft. We live in a manufactured home for you country folks. Unfortunately, if temps are above 90 degrees during the day, it does not provide sufficient cooling capacity, even for a small bedroom. It has a handle on the top which makes it easy to roll around. We froze the cooling blocks, wich were included, to keep the water colder. Thinking it would be better for my office, 200 sq ft.

Worthless
It’s just a huge piece of junk; my small Vornado fan works better. I got this because I had surgery, and the heat was going to be bad for a week. Houses near the ocean don’t have AC, but I didn’t want to spend $400 for the portable AC unit. I could have just toughed it out if I had known this thing was worthless. There is no diff whether it’s dry air or if you put the water and ice in... how is that possible lol
