Auway Hand Forge Short Japanese Katana Samurai Sword Carbon Steel Sharp Blade Wooden Sheath

I wasn't expecting much at this price point but was very pleasantly surprised. Blade is looks very nice. Well make and came very sharp. There's no hamon but still looks very nice. Fitting were very nice as well. Very good for $65. Frankly I use it mostly as decoration and cannot attest to how well the blade will hold up to actual abuse. It will cut, it will stab for sure. But if you practice swordsmanship, probably should spend a bit more on a T10 blade or something similar. Funny thing is I do have a T10 blade that I paid over $1200 for....iand thoght it's too expensive and pretty to be chopping bamboo with. In the end both blades are for decoration.

First off the shipping was incredibly fast. So points for that. I just got it mere minutes ago. And!!! I personally love it. The same-gawa is fake the ito is loose and could be a lot tighter. The tsuka is a bit on the beefy side but for the small size if the blade it works. The fittings the Kashira, Fushi, Menuki and "Tsuba" are all really nice and detailed. There are no mekugi pegs soooo good luck trying to take this apart. On to the blade. What can I say. There's nothing special or WOW. It's a mild polish on 1060 or T10 steel. No hamon or the dreadful wire brush hamon. It's a thick blade with no distal taper. So it probably won't bend or warp. The taper is even, it's a very thick blade. The kissaki is a nice polish no geometric yokote just a polish on one. Which I am fine with. The Saya is ichimei so it won't leave finger prints. Overall it's a great tanto or a big as knife. Perfect for seppuku or blocking bullets. Or making julienne fries.

Good blade, I had accidently scratched the blade while attempting to sharpen it so I had to go back and sand it down to refinish the steel grain. Once I got the correct angle to sharpen it at, I got this blade sharp enough to slice through paper like butter. I don't remember receiving my blade that sharp, so if you put a little work into it, you can make it a very sharp blade. I'm satisfied with it, plus the cosmetic stuff is awesome too. The fittings are not tight, but they aren't loose either. Decent blade for the price.

I was amazed at the high quality of this long knife. It is strong thick blade and very sharp. Weapon for self defense in wilderness and protection of your loved ones at home. its a bit pricey at $90 but is worth every Dollar. QUALITY!

This medium sized tanto based design has a good authentic look and is pretty well made. The problem for me is that the handmade short sword is flawed with some scratches and uncertain hard use abilities. It’s a great hanging traditional samurai style weapon; but the mid level price is really not the best deal in the Amazon market. Compared to the machete Cold Steel simulator size sword; I would choose the Cold Steel model every time. I have a very expensive CRKT special ops wakizashi that is really excellent. Anyway the traditional katana swords I have purchased include some Boker superlative Damascus swords which are very close to the top tier of Cold Steel San Maul perfect swords that are very pricey. The Gross Messer and Boker black Damascus steel Ninja swords are the level that I seek. But the excellent and affordable Machete Swords from CS; have made the ability to own some amazing quality and tech materials to be great on the wall and even better for tight tolerances. I have the entire line of Williams inspired Japanese fixed blades and some awesome folders. So this sword is somewhere in between the array of daisho styled blades.

Great sword compliments my samurai and ninjato purchases from SWORDS OF NORTHSHIRE , great tang when holding it and weilds pretty nicely , excellent blade if investing in a good tanto to compliment your sets .

Arrived early in a sealed Styrofoam box that was crush proof. Knife is beautiful with precision manufacture. I can not say enough about this blade and sheath. Caution in first removing the blade note it is covered (oiled) in an inner temporary plastic. It can bunch up and cause major problems if slipped down into the sheath. This is a white glove knife. Too nice to use but is displayed on my sword racks. I may order another. You will be impressed too!. Buy it!.
