4 gallons instead of 5, is enough
I like how the screw cap is off center. it seals nicely and is hard to cross thread.I recommend users who will leave this hanging for extended periods, get a 3/4" diameter oak dowell to extend across the whole upper portion rather than use the flexible PVC tube provided. The Screw nozzle is a bit of a pain to open and close with soapy hands, but it is nie that it does not leak. The hose will seperate from the bag body if yanked on hard enough. I recommend gluing it in place, and using a longer hose than the one provided.I was using the advanced elements 5 gallon summershower previously. Their prie increases had be search out other options. The summershower clones are sompletely worthless. This stearns is good. I like it, do not miss that extra gallon. With a little spit and polish these can be made reliable and more convenient. It is as good as the advanc elements summershower and I expect it to last longer as i use it, as there is one less gallon of water weight to rip the handle from bag body.If the Advance elements 5 gallon summershower and this bag were thesame price, I'd opt for this one.

It does have a good water flow.
This is the 3rd bladder I bought so far. I bought a bladder some 3 years ago and it just wasn't good enough. The bladder material wasn't good. I threw it away. I then bought another type and the material was good but water shut off mechanics was poorly designed. It broke on my hand. I ended up throwing that away too. I then ran into this, the Stern Sun shower. I actually bought it at a camping store near my house. What a good product. I gave it to a relative of mine that is into camping as well. I then bought the second Stern Sun Shower and a man in a camping site in Central America ( I was camping and hiking there) saw it and bought my tent, shower bladder, and shower tent. He bought the hole thing. I came back to the states empty. Lol. And now this is the third Stern Sun Shower I buy. I love this product. I like the sturdiness of the handle where you feet the rope through. I like how the material heats up the water quick and the water temperature reader on the bladder is pretty accurate. The shut off mechanism for the water is simple. The water flow is nice. The ability to control the flow of water is well designed and easy to manage. I don't even look at other bladders out there. I know this one and it works great. So why reinvent the wheel right.

Lots of good, but one major flaw
The good: Very solidly made. The material is way heavier than most solar showers I've owned before (and definitely heavier than similarly priced items). The fill port is easy to open/fill/close and seals easily. As others have noted, you have to cut the ends of the handle to thread a rope through, as recommended by the manufacturer. I'd also follow some folks advice and push a solid dowel through, in order to reinforce the top bar and prevent tear-out around the handle. That's all minor stuff, though. The major issue: The shower head will NOT turn off. I think the one I got is missing a piece in the shower head (maybe a plastic/rubber ball that's supposed to seal against the tube when you screw it closed?). None the less, as tight as I can possibly close it, water just pours out. We're not talking a leak, we're talking full on shower velocity. Fortunately I already had a shower head I like the design of better (1/4 turn valve with large handles), so I just swapped that one in to make a really nice setup. But, you shouldn't have to do that on a new product. Buyer beware!

Highly Recommend for Fall Hunting
I purchased this solar shower to replace a cheaper one made by Ozark Trails. I read many many reviews of a number of Solar Showers and based on reviews, I decided on this one. I use a solar shower on Fall Camping trips and I highly recommend this Stearns 4 gal model (and when I bought it from amazon, it was cheaper than the smaller models). This shower has a clear side, with the opposite inside surface being black, allowing sun rays to penetrate the clear plastic, penetrate through the water then be absorbed by the black plastic inside (the gold colored plastic side pictured is gold on the outside and black on the reverse side (inside). The plastic was very thick Heavy Duty plastic. The Gold Side was even thicker and "quilted" presumably to insulate the water inside- especially useful if laying the shower on the cold ground. The fill cap was large, as pictured, which made it easier to fill. I double rinsed the bag with baking soda before the using it which made the reported chlorine negligible. With an ambient air temperature starting at 55F and increasing to 60 F, on a sunny day, the shower heated up to 98 F in about 3.5 hours. When it was time to shower, the peak temperature of the day had come and went, so the shower lost 2F in about 10 minutes. The nozzle was not particularly hard to operate even with soapy hands. By turning the flow off and on as needed, there was more than ample water to double wash/ rinse my man-hair and take a rather leisurely 8- 10 minute shower. As with any bag of water, you will have to hang it higher than your head to get water pressure with the nozzle at head level. I sit on a folding tripod seat with the shower as high as I can hang it and nozzle pressure at head level is fine.

Works as it should
Gets up to 127°F! so far. One star off for the shower hose being "way" too short. One star off for the shower spout not having a long enough piece of plastic to hold onto, to unscrew it for water to come out, you need to hold onto the slippery connecting hose section. One other thing, it has a pvc piece inside the handle to run a rope through, but no holes at each end to do so. Please add the holes in a manner to run a rope through as instructed. Please add a more user friendly shower spout attachment. Otherwise, it works great at hearing the water, and is quite sturdy, doesn't leak. I recommend, just keep in mind the couple negatives that can be adjusted.

Does the trick
It is great. It heats up well in the sun or even if you leave it in a hot vehicle. I wish it came with a hook of some kind to attach to a tree or something strong, but that is manageable with a rope or straps. It is strong and does the trick of getting you showered. If you are looking for a high pressured shower like you have at home, this is not for you. Remember, you are camping.

Really cool but not supplied with string
Works well but not complete without the string to tie it up

Works better than we anticipated
Full sun required and you have hot water in about 4 hours. You have to be careful with the cheap plastic shower head. Overall, this saved us out in the remote wilderness with a hot shower whenever we wanted it. It wont hold temperature out of sun so you need to use it before the sun goes down. Recommended highly.

Poor instructions but it works
I could not figure out how this highly rated shower could be sort of a copper colour. Shouldn't it be black to heat the water? The picture does not show that the other side of the shower is clear plastic and the other side of the copper outside is black. So you lay this thing on its back and the sun shines on the black underside. Cool. They really should explain this and show more photos.
