Amazing device
This is what you need. Can turn your memory card into a homebrew ready device. I used the old action replay method because I've had one for years, didn't know it was even more useful beyond just using cheats.

Know what you're buying!
This memory card adapter DOES NOT use an SD card as a normal GameCube memory card. You CANNOT save your games onto an SD card. Games and the memory card manager will just tell you that the object in the memory card slot cannot be used. You still need a normal memory card to save games to (or use a virtual memory card by playing your GameCube game on Wii or Wii U using Nintendont). What it is good for is running homebrew on your Gamecube. To do this, you will also need a GameCube Action Replay disc and a 2 GB SD card (not larger!). Download some homebrew in .dol format and put it on your SD card. Put the SD card in this WiiKey adapter and plug that into your GameCube. Boot up the Action Replay and instead of the regular cheats menu, you'll get a list of files on the SD card. Select your homebrew and hit A. It'll go to a black screen for some seconds and then appear.I can recommend the "GCMM" homebrew app. It can backup game saves from a regular memory card to your SD card, and later restore them to any memory card. You can use it to copy even "protected" saves that disallow copying. (The copy of the save on the SD card cannot be used directly in games. You have to put it back on a regular memory card to use it.)

Cheap and effective addition to homebrew
I was using serial port two on my GameCube for a memory card adapter until a new device blocked that port, so I needed a way to use the same micro SD card from a different point of entry. Thanks to this $10 GameCube memory card adapter, I was able to put the micro SD card into an SD card adapter, then put that into the GameCube adapter, and load my games directly from Swiss. If you're not in the homebrew scene this is probably not going to make sense -- so okay in that case just use it as a cheap replacement for official GameCube memory cards. If you scratch just beneath the surface though, you can do a whole lot more.

Works if you have a homebrew entrypoint
Not used as a memory card, it's for storing executables for use with Swiss on the GameCube. The latest version of Swiss is compatible with SDXC cards. I have been using a 64GB card formatted to FAT32 using third-party utilities and have experienced no issues.Edit: if you are loading gc backups with this, you're going to have a bad time as the bandwidth isnt great. There are adapters that plug in to the serial port at the bottom that can utilize way better bandwidth for good loading times, and you don't have to make any changes to your SD card. This original product should be good for emulators and simple homebrew though.

Does what it needs to
For the people in here that tried to use this as a memory card with SD storage I have no idea how you get through your day to day lives. This is only usable if you have a modded gamecube or wii and you know what you are doing, and it does this task very well.

Use with Gamecube mod chip. Like PicoBoot
Works great with my PicoBoot modchip install. All the Bad reviews are people who don't understand what this is for or how to use it.
