Excellent device once you get the right one for your network
Update 2/27/19: wrong model phone initially delivered by Corporate Buybacks was returned on 2/6 but there is still no credit to my account.Update 1/30/19: Phone comes in two variants 6810 for CDMA (Verizon), and 6820 for AT&T (GSM). Seller mistakenly sent 6810 phone causing the grief mentioned below. Purchased 6820 version and performance has been everything we hoped. 6820 phone is branded Kyocera as shown in the product photo. Phone is so waterproof, can take a photo 6' underwater. Screen is genuine sapphire and super resistant to scratching. Touch screen is not fooled by water, but responds accurately to finger inputs even in rain. Excellent cameras. Loud speakers. Great battery life. Using it to read and photograph water meters in the field, via a proprietary cloud-based Android app (SPMR). After 8 hours of use with GPS in high-precision mode and constant LTE cloud connectivity uploading every meter read and photo, phone still showing ~65% battery life. Micro-USB port compatible with On-The-Go (OTG) USB devices. Using ours with a snake/bore camera. Don't need or want case for this phone.[Below applies to 6810 version when operating on AT&T GSM network. Seller answered Amazon emails, admitted they sent wrong phone and offered to make it right. Said their SKU mixup is now corrected and ordering this item will get the 6820.]Phone has permanent Verizon firmware installed, has Verizon logo imprinted on face (unlike Amazon photo), has permanent Verizon apps installed, will always warn that a Verizon SIM is not installed, and is not fully compatible with AT&T network despite adjusting every user-accessible setting and working with both Verizon and AT&T tech support. Gross network functions work (phone, internet, SMS), but encryption and validation needed for business apps does not. Phone also came with some company's corporate administrator account still set up and I had to perform a factory reset to even get control of the device. Not as advertised. Returning after wasting a week trying to make it work.

Worst piece of garbage I have ever used.
First things first I'm hard on phones hence the point of looking for a tough phone. but it comes with a number of problematic features that ill address for your clarity here1) terrible battery life if you use a headset/earbuds/headphones with this phone you can expect the battery life to drop hard and fast.2) Its not the most user friendly phone but you can get used to fairly quickly3) For a "Tough" phone its stupidly fragile my old phone got run over and still worked this thing got dropped and it stopped working right4) its obscenely overpriced at nearly $600 I expect a phone to be an investment not a cavalier purchase5) not a feature just a comment buy a Nokia they aren't perfect but they're cheaper and significantly better

You can get it wet. No problem.
Rugged phone.

Love the phone; Company is horrible!
This phone is awesome! Would recommend it to ANYONE!On the other hand, the company that sold it to me, Energy Electronics, not so good! I've had the phone for only 5 months and it is messing up. I use it at my business ONLY, therefore it has never been wet, dropped, opened or mistreated in anyway! I've used it only Monday through Friday for 5 months and it always stays at my place of business!I have done nothing to mess up the phone! It suddenly started not reading the SIM card (bought several new ones). It has to be a factory defect of some kind. But because the "30 day" period has passed, NOTHING can be done and I'm out $300.00! Energy Electronics said "unfortunately we xant help you but you can try to file a claim with Amazon". Really???That's not how i would do my customers! A phone should last longer than 5 months!!!

Tough as hell but slow
This phone is durable as all hell. The refurbished one I purchased doesn't work well, glitchy touch screen, very slow, doesn't surf the web well, hard to scroll with the touchy touchscreen. It is on of the toughest phones I have ever had though.

KYOCERA. ROUGH BUT EXTREMELY POOR PERFORMANCE
I’ve been thinking on publishing my opinion on this “Smartphone” since day two but I have refrained myself from doing it in a “rush” or not meditated opinion.Enough is enough. I’ve had this phone time enough (half a year) to reach my best objective opinion. The performance is simply out of the market. It is extremely and desperately poor!!. It freezes all the time no matter what you do in terms of shutting down the apps running in the background, something you have to do all the time if you intend to use it normally, that is, a normal CPU demanding usage.I contacted both Kyocera and Amazon 4 days after the returning period (which seems to be a month) to explain the problem and asking for a replacement of the same product or, if that was not possible, another more expensive product of the same company for which I agreed on paying the price difference.None of the responses, if any decent, has been satisfactory in any sense. The proof is that I still have to keep this product for which the Kyocera should be ashamed of selling it.DON’T EVEN THINK FOR A MOMENT ON BUYING ONE!.By the way, this “month of grace” for returning the product they give you, I’m not sure if it is an Amazon or Kyocera condition, does not comply with the current legislation as far as I am concerned, both US and EU.

You get what you pay for!
Phone arrived dirty, and completely dead. The charging port hole is wallowed out, charging plug that came with phone keeps falling out. Took over 2.5 hours to get small change on phone. Over all phone looked nice, no cracks in screen, larger than we expected compared to the one we currently own.

Great phone, good price
I bought it used so it came scraped up and some of the rubber parts on the back of the phone were already falling off. I would recommend purchasing this phone brand new and it would be a great investment. Super durable, and a lot of functions on the phone.
