couldn’t find this lotion for a long time tarte wasn’t selling it have been using this lotion for years then ulta took it off shelves… don’t know why but glad it’s back, recommend ordering off amazon as tarte takes a week or more to get

I was going to get this on sale on the tarte site, but then saw it was the same sale price here but obviously next day delivery (and easier to return if I absolutely hated it). I like tarte’s Shape Tape moisturizer A LOT so I was hopeful I’d like this too, and it’s a good price comparatively to regular price ($30 on website).First, I looked for every review I could find of this stuff before I bought it, even HSN airings. The tart representative lady said “it feels like a meringue”.There’s nothing meringue about this.There’s nothing whipped about this.There’s nothing light and airy about this.It’s literally just lotion.Albeit a giant tub of lotion, but plain ol’ lotion nonetheless.It can’t be that it’s ‘melted’ because none of it is separated.It smells… ok.Definitely not cake.Not the “OH MY GOD AAAAHHMAZING” they tried to sell on TV.It’s smells like a very faint vanilla and… lotion lolYou know plain unscented lotion still has a ‘lotion’ scent? Yeah, just mix in the ever so slight touch of vanilla into that. I guess at least it won’t interfere with other scents you may use (body sprays and the like).>*update: so I used this again but on my arms instead of just on my hands, and getting more scent exposure, it’s giving sunscreen. Which I don’t like, at all. Really am disappointed in tarte for this one. The whole ~thing~ is just… deceptive.*<It does absorb really quickly, and I don’t find it greasy. That’s a bonus.So I can’t say, conclusively, I absolutely hate it. I will probably keep it because it does feel nice, I like the tub, and you get a good amount of it, and tarte does have high quality products.But I would not buy again.>*update con’t: sending back. Light sentI get headaches easily. This doesn't bother me.It's not "bum bum" but its similar in its own right.Not the same smell or thickness.Still very nice.

Cake butter?! I don’t think so. It’s not giving me any of that at all. To me it’s just terrible

When something has "cake" in the name, it should smell decadent and this doesn't. It has a light, perfumy scent that is strange and not what I expected. It absorbs completely into the skin and leaves my skin feeling dry. Overall this product did not meet my expectations. Saltair butters are much better and similarly priced.
