Obscene!
I also own the Klipsch La Scala's, but I only use them (in conjunction with these subs) for music listening; good match. For movies I use the whole Klipsch THX Ultra2 system.I usually don't take the time to review products but these produce such over the top; totally blow you away; how-the-heck-does-that-much-wall-flexing-pressure-come-out-of-those-little-boxes; earthquake!; fight or flight trauma inducing; PTSD episode triggering; ear-to-ear grining experiences that I had to praise them publicly (I use 4 KW-120-THX subs with 2 of their accompanying KA-1000s). I can't keep things on the shelves. They keep rattling around and falling off when watching The Hulk, Transformers, LOTR, Star Wars, Iron Man and the like. I actually had a house guest scream and jump when the Enterprise went into warp on the last Star Trek movie (2009) with a rib cage cracking boom.I use an SPL meter to set up the room usually at 70-75dB/ch, and run the sub channel 3dB-5dB above the rest of the channels depending on the film and mix, they still sound balanced with the rest of the system and they absolutely just do not care what you throw at them. I'm seriously concerned for the foundation of my house. My girlfriend says my home system's sub rivals the IMAX theater for shear sound immersion, and shock value. Good girlfriend. :)

High Quality - Excellent Bass
Shakes the house and yes... the neighbors will know your there. Great sounding bass. Great for movies and music. Recommend two. It fills the room with bass better with two.

Excellent product
The subwoofer is of high quality. It works best with the klipsch sub amp. I have it as part o the klipsch thx system and really enjoying the listening experience.

Powerful and musical
The Klipsch KW-120-THX are intended to be used as a pair with Klipsch's KA-1000-THX amplifier which is a one kilowatt power amplifier. I am using these in conjunction with a pair of Klipsch La Scala speakers (with Bob Crites crossovers) in a two channel stereo system for use with music and for television and movies. These subwoofers are certainly powerful enough to keep up with the La Scala's which put out HUGE sound.I can't make an opinion for use with other speakers, but these subs make an excellent pairing with my "Heritage" Klipsch's for music listening. They have tight and musical bass which sounds fantastic with music ranging from jazz to rock or even bass heavy rap or dubstep type music. These subwoofers can shake the walls, but they are musical and tight. The mid-bass is fantastic and they blend with my horn loaded main speakers. The low frequency bass is good with these too, from my experience with proper placement these extend down to 17 Hz with authority before they roll off.For cinema use these will knock your socks off. They add a lot of that "gut feeling" to scenes with explosions or engines running and any other low frequency sound. I will say with confidence that, if set up properly, a pair of these in a typical living room will rival or even surpass the bass in a typical movie theater. If you're looking for subwoofers that can do double duty for audiophile quality sound and pack enough punch to impress your guests with the next action adventure movie you'll be happy with these.

Okay......please read this.
I know sound, very well. I also know that by purchasing this sub, you're expecting to hear something amazing, yes? Okay, to be completely honest with you, this sub is worth the price tag. It blows me away when I listen to music. I like Deep House, and other bass-heavy Electronic Music....and this sub just tears the walls down. After taking off all of the frames on the walls, my goodness, you hear clear, distortion free, LOUD, bass that gives you goosebumps. I'm in awe when this thing comes on.... BEST sub I have ever heard. For my room, the size that it is, it is rediculous! It's so loud that it's funny..lol

I would upgrade to something like a Behringer EP4000 which will give you about 2k ...
Kick ass sub. Don't bother with the Klipsch amp, its just a very expensive Butt kicker ~1k amp that you can pick up for 300 bucks -- that came from the man that designed this sub. I would upgrade to something like a Behringer EP4000 which will give you about 2k RMS for only about 300 bucks. You'll also want to get a crossover to add a subsonic filter since this is a ported sub tuned to 20Hz. The DCX4496 will do that and give you extra EQ to room correct if you need to.
