Nadia [1984] [DVD]

I'm not a gumnast, never was never will be, but how can one NOT admire Nadia, whose iconic appearence in the olympics set the bar for the new Olympians. Here, her true story is told in an uncompromising yet engaging way, and we see her from the age of seven till adult, following her life choices and the manipulation that went on behind the scenes. Her famous 'attempted suicide' is covered generally but it is left ambiguous, never really telling the viewer whether it was deliberate and as a result of her stresses at the time, or a genuine accident. In some ways it is better left like this as you can make up your own mind.One thing it does show is the competitive and brutal nature of gymnastics, and the things they had to and have to do to stay on top of the game.Well worth a watch for fans of gymnastics and true story lovers alike.

I loved this as a child and wore out the copy in our local video hire shop! Have been looking for it on DVD for years but only saw it as a dodgy-looking copy for sale on an auction site.ths is a genuine DVD and is good quality.Loved watching it again and plan to keep it to inspire my wee girl when she's older!

Says that this is a good quality brand new DVD but it's just a shockingly bad copy! I will be sending this back and expect a FULL refund!

Bought for my daughter for her Xmas stocking who must have watched this movie a thousand times as a childI am sure she knows all the dialogue word for word.

My daughter is a budding gymnast and she watches this over and over!
