Capable device is a little tricky to use as a radio
I bought this for an older person with mild cognitive impairment. They love the big clear numbers on the clock, and especially how it projects the time onto the wall. But they have trouble remembering that there is a radio inside, and are afraid to use it.The radio functionality is not obvious - you have to press a small button with the word radio over it. And then locate the "tuning" buttons. The clock digits momentarily disappear and the clock becomes a radio. But only for a moment. As soon as you stop tuning it, the digits revert back to the time.I can remember this and can manage the functions well enough. But it has proved too much for a senior with cognitive issues to master. I will have to get them a radio with obvious tuning and volume knobs.

Love this clock! Just what I was looking for and didn't even know it!
After buying and returning several other alarm clocks to replace my former one that I had for so many years, I decided to try this one after viewing the video (thank you to the poster!). I realize now that the other clocks I returned were attempting to do too much with a simple device. This one is more basic, but is the winner overall for me.Things I love about this alarm clock:-- The pretty blue color of the numbers - very calming!-- The large size of the numbers - easy to read from across the room!-- The red ceiling time light. I honestly didn't think I wanted this, but now that I have it, I love it! I don't have to turn my whole body to see the time when I'm in bed, I just look up! Plus, the ceiling light can be moved on an axis to wherever and flipped upside down if desired, or turned off entirely. I really like this feature so I can open my eyes in the middle of the night and just look up. It's a red color but not too bright or large to interrupt my sleep. And it is very readable in the dark, not blurry, and I can even read it from my bed without my glasses with 10' ceiling, and my eyesight is terrible! The size of the ceiling numbers is probably based on the height of your ceiling I bet.-- The white box and size fits nicely and sturdily on my nightstand but doesn't take up too much space.-- Has a battery backup - a requirement for me!-- it also has a bunch of features which I don't use, such as various radio/buzzer sounds, two alarms, etc. See listing. It was exactly as described in the listing.Things I don't like:-- It is a bit confusing to operate if you don't have the directions. I hope in the future I will be able to find the directions online once I lose my copy that came with the clock. The buttons do a lot, but you have to know exactly how long to press, how many times to press, etc. It was more complicated than my much much older alarm clock which had more buttons. In the end, I decided to just use my cell phone alarm clock to wake me up in the morning, since it is easier than any alarm clock I've ever used in my entire life.-- The red ceiling light is not visible in the daytime or with lights on, only visible in the dark. Actually this is probably a good thing, thinking about it.-- When the clock loses power due to electricity outtage or unplug, the red ceiling portion of the clock turns off (to save battery?). It needs to be manually re-turned on each time.-- That's about it. Not much to dislike about this clock. It's simple!I would definitely recommend this to everyone seeking a large-numbered inexpensive clock. But be sure to keep the directions!

Look for something better! I trashed mine.
This projection clock radio was purchased to replace a 10 year old Timex projection unit that got knocked out by an electrical surge from lightning. The Timex was just about perfect, but is no longer in production.Update 1. I deducted another star for this radio after using it for a month. It is very easy to push the wrong button in the dark and change settings.Update 2. Deducted another star to make it a one star rating after living with this radio for another month. If not for the projector feature, it would be no stars. It is a huge hassle to operate. I have memorized some of the button positions so I can adjust the radio at night, but that is hit or miss. I have to remember to dim the clock face at night. It is too bright. Sound quality is very poor. I'm actively looking for something else, even one without the clock projector. And that clock projector was the main reason to choose this clock radio.Update 3. I have trashed it. I don't have the patience to deal with the controls and other shortcomings of this product.First off, this clock radio is small. It's not much bigger than one of the large iPhones and about as thick as a stack of three iPhones. Because it is small and lightweight, it is easy to knock over. On the plus side it doesn't take up much space on the nightstand. I'll work through the pros and cons.Pros:-The digital clock face is big and bright. (That is also a Con as you will see)-The projector provides a very clear image on the ceiling or wall in a dark room. It is not visible if the room is brightly lit.-There is an option for setting two alarms, but no way to set them up for different days such as weekends.Cons:-You need a magnifying glass to read the setup instructions on the included manual.-The digital clock face is very bright even on the dim setting. That is a problem if you are trying to reduce blue light at night. It is slightly visible even when at the "off" setting. Blue light at night suppresses melatonin production. Melatonin is important for sleep and, it turns out, for cancer suppression.-The control buttons are small and identical. It's easy to push the wrong one.-The radio is so lightweight that it takes two hands to set the side mounted alarm buttons. One hand to push the button and one hand to hold the radio in place.- Setting the time and alarms require quick reflexes. If you are trying to read the tiny print on the instructions and set the time, the clock will time out. You have to start over. Again, those small buttons are a problem.-The radio is ok. The presets are a pain to use. If you miss the one you want, you have to cycle through all of them. I like that I can switch between AM and FM with the touch of a button. However, that is also the button that turns the radio off, so you sometimes have to cycle through AM and FM to get the band you want or to turn it off. The AM is subject to interference noise from any nearby electrical devices. Sound quality is about on par with a 60's era transistor pocket radio.I'm making do with this radio because there isn't anything out there right now that has all of the features I want. At least the projector option works well.

This is not for you if you need loud alarm
Really like the size, look and functions of this clock, however, both myself & husband have not woke up with the alarm for 3 days in a row & have to rely on another awaking source. The volume is graduating from low to highest but the loudest is not loud enough especially now in summer as we have the a/c & a fan on in the bedroom due to the heat. The speakers are in the back but too low in volume strength.
