Great day pack
I picked up two of these, one for me and one for my son. We have the Kelty Coyote 80, and the Redcloud 90. We needed a nice pack for day hikes, and most of the small day packs are too little. So we decided on this pack. And I am glad we did. This pack is great for day hikes. It is small enough to not be huge and bulky, but large enough to carry lots of essential items for day hikes. This is what I usually carry on day hikes:10X10 nylon tarp with cordagefirestarting kitfirst aid kitcompassfrogg toggs rain suit2 water bottlesextra 550 cordcook kitknifesmall sitting padbug spray/sunscreencold weather usually carry gloves, neck gator, and hat.food and trail snacksflashlightAnd I still have room if I needed it!!Cannot go wrong with this nice day pack!

Incredibly useful and convenient backpack!
I'm becoming a great Kelty lover, because this is second backpack I buy and it's just GREAT!Good materials, quality zippers, well-thought out compartments -- especially side ones. Very easy to carry long objects, like an axe or trekking poles. Good space for hydration bladder. Great back supportI've had it on a few day hikes now and it's lovely and intact. We'll see how long it lasts, but so far 9/10 backpack

Right on for the money
I got this bag for the classic styling, the stuff pouch on the outside, trekking pole loops. The price was right for this bag. I think you have to spend another $70 to get a nicer once, so for the money- it is spot on. The waist strap is kinda cheapy. The hip pads are nice, but the little straps/clip are too thin imo. But for $100 and it being a day bag, I guess you wont get everything you want. I'm 5-8 and long torso for a woman. I had to crank it down as far as it would go to sit right on my hips. I added weight to it and then it fit better. Good looking bag! Excited to take it to Everest base camp in September!!

Perfect for the woods or the town!!
I had way too many backpacks; one for day hikes, one for my laptop, one for school. I wanted to get rid of them all and condense into one bag that I could use for anything and this is the PERFECT FIT! It's small and streamlined enough that I feel like I can use it in day to day situations without feeling ridiculous (and it has a padded laptop sleeve!) but it also has all the qualities I wanted for a hiking backpack. To top it off, this thing is incredibly comfortable- I've never enjoyed a backpack so much. Would totally recommend!

I love this pack!
I purchased this pack specifically for the waist attachment. I travel with a regular backpack for work but an inflammatory arthritis condition affected my neck and my regular pack was too hard on my neck and shoulders. I love this pack as it allows me to securely attach it to my waist and take the pressure off of my neck and shoulders and also has other adjustments that can be made to distribute the weight differently as fatigue sets in. I really didn’t want to change to a roller board for travel and this pack allows me the mobility for travel that a back pack affords. The pockets and places to stash various items are great for accessories and items that need to stay accessible during travel. Fantastic purchase, Ia a very happy customer!!

Nice bag but watch out for the top zipper
This is my third Kelty backpack. The blue color is a lot darker than expected from the photos over the web but still good looking. It is lighter material than my previous redwing 50. I don't think it is as durable as my 50 but I'm using it for travel. It is also smaller than expected. I wanted the largest legal carry on I could get. I would like to try the older redwing 44 as a larger carry on. The only problem I found is that the zipper for the top small compartment always gets caught on the rain flap. I put a temporary tape over the flap but looking to sew a piece of thick cloth later.

Every Day Carry for an archaeologist
I use this pack for work while I record archaeological sites on a National Forest and I have to say it seems perfect for my needs. I wanted a pack that had an internal frame, was lightweight, and had some external pockets and pouches for readily accessible gear like a GPS, notebook, small camera, tape measure, etc. I also needed the hydration pouch and room for lunch. I got it all in this pack. One of my favorite features is the set of pass through pouches on the sides, which you can use to insert things like trekking poles. I'm hoping to use this with the disassembled pole for my GPS antenna, though I haven't yet tried it. It seems about the right size and the loops at the bottom should be able to catch the tip of the poles if I lash them together with some velcro strapping I have.

Good for carry-on luggage and hiking rainforests.
I bought this backpack for both hiking and airline travel. I love that it is carry-on compliant with airlines (even international carriers), but is still a highly functional outdoor backpack. I used this backpack for a recent field trip to Brazil where it was able to hold 2-weeks worth of clothes and personal belongings. Plus, it was highly functional for hiking through the Amazon rainforest where I was doing field research. It held my equipment and I was easily able to clip up additional loads with the hidden connectors. I added a rain cover to the bag to help protect it during heavy storms, but it was highly water resistant otherwise. The hip straps are on the small size, but they distributed the weight really well for me. Zippers were great otherwise. Highly recommend as a multi-functional pack!

Muy comoda y eficiente
Muy buena mochila y de muy buena calidad. el detalle es que me resulto un poco pequeña como para un niño o adolescente y realice el cambio por la redwing 40.
