We put this in the nursery for our second child, and so far, it is working very well.We opted not to use any special bags as there appears to be no actual benefit. Instead, we are using normal 13-gallon kitchen trashcan bags. Do keep in mind, even though you are using 13-gallon bags, the size of the can is not quite as large as a standard kitchen trash can, so you will not be filling each bag to its full potential.Others complain about the odor; that is an obvious. You are keeping dirty diapers inside your home, if you try hard enough, you will smell them. That being said, we do not try to smell them, thus we have yet to smell any odors coming form this can. When it comes time to change the bag, I bring the entire can out to the garage and do the deed out there. What we have found that works well for minimizing odor is: leave the can in the 'open' mode, so you can place pee diapers into the top portion (which produce no real odors). When you finally get a poo diaper, quickly dump the whole load into the can and replace it back to the 'open' state again. The whole motion can be done in 1 second, and will allow almost no odors to escape.Pros:- Does a very good job (so far) of keeping odors in. Time will tell if the rubber seals inside break down and allow gasses to escape.- Very easy to use- Uses standard 13-gallon kitchen bagsCons:- A bit expensive, but we knew that going in, so that can't be a real negative.

The only reason this only got 4 stars is because when you lift the lid to put a diaper in it does smell. But when it’s closed there is no smell! The #1 reason I bought this one is because it uses regular trash bags! It holds close to 40-45 diapers before it needs changed! With 2 kids in diapers it’s a must. We used the regular diaper genie for years with my oldest and I can’t believe I spent as much as I did on those bags! Plus they didn’t hold nearly as much ! This is super simple to use. Just attach the trash bag, shut the lid and slide open to dispose and then slide shut to seal. I do wish there was some sort of locking mechanism on it to keep kids from opening and shutting but that’s not a huge deal. For the price this is definitely a good option. I could have spent close to $100 on a stainless steel can but honestly it’s for poopy diapers I don’t need a $100 trash can for poop and pee! Highly recommend!

Our doctors office had a product like this, and we liked it because all you had to replace was the bag and it was very simple to use (unlike other popular diaper receptacles). We are so glad we went with this! We mainly just use it for poopy diapers because otherwise it would fill up fast. Once it gets more full you can get a whiff when you rotate it to close but otherwise it totally traps the scent. Also when it starts to get full, it can sometimes get “jammed” causing you to have to left the lid and push some of the diapers down but this wasn’t a big deal to us. Overall a nice little compact uncomplicated bin for keeping the poo contained!

I bought this diaper pail for my sister who is expecting her first baby. I have the same pail for my son and have been using it for ten months. It is great. It has a large capacity and keeps the smell contained well. My favorite feature is that you can use any brand 13 gallon trash bags, no need for expensive refill bags. Also it comes apart for the occasional deep clean.

I bought this and bought another because my toddler enjoyed the lever mechanism and she could help throw away diapers safely and easily. However, the 13 gallon glad trash bags that I use are a little too long so there is some waste. Maybe because I use "tall" trash bags... if one could find regular length fatter trash bags that might work better. Or I might try a smaller trash bag. I would upgrade to four stars if I found a better fitting bag insert. Contains smells except when inserting another dirty diaper or changing the bag. My other diaper pail (with it's own bag cartridge that you manually tie the ends off of) wins on these two points.

This is a great product. The best part is the design of the door. It is like a revolving door, so that the used diapers underneath the door, do not have any way of venting (odors) if the door is in either the open or closed positions. The other nice thing is that is uses standard 13 gal kitchen garbage bags. We use the "odor control" type bags. This diaper pail is Very handy and compact, and simple to use.

This is not like the original diaper champ I will say. However, the winning factor is that you can use regular trash bags with it. It really does keep the smell in until you have to add a diaper to it. The smell does quickly fade though.

I love this diaper pail. I was worried after reading some of the other reviews that it would not contain the smell as much as needed for the location in would be in (our living room) but it does a great job. I even use regular trash bags with it and it's wonderful. Obviously you get a good whiff of the smell when you open it to empty it but it's much simpler than the diaper genie that we have. I love the way it stays closed with the rotating top when dropping in a diaper. I do like my diaper genie and how all i have to do to open it is press the foot pedal but I love this one as well and just a tad more than the Genie.

Very good product. Hides smell quite well. Like the sliding handle for dropping in the diapers without exposing the other used diapers. Recommend cleaning the inside with wipes or spray every time you change a new bag. I use glad white kitchen garbage bags with fabreeze to neutralize odours. Works quite well.
