Currently I am not liking this printer.it didn't come with any manual. had to go online to get the information.Even after downloading the manual and software I cant get it to print a single thing. The screen for curing light up the machine moves and I get communication and control but nothing cures.looking online it is possible that its a bad power brick. some beta users indicated that the 12 5 am supplies they have didn't provide enough power so nothing happened.Ill see if I can find a 12 volt 6 amp power brick and see if that makes it work..Ok I have to update this as I was able to find better documentation on what to set the exposure to and I am able to print something. so this wasn't a issue with the power brick. However it suffers from z wobble. The z axis is not centered on the stepper motor. on the unit I have its about 2mm different at the top then it is at the bottom of so this means its about 18 mm at the stepper motor and about 20 at the top. The test print I did I can see the z wobble.I don't know of any way to fix that with the way it is currently designed I could modify it by drilling out the holes that the z nut treads into and then use longer threaded screws onto a nut but that would void the warranty so I don't want to do that.I am going to do a bigger print to evaluate this and see.leaving this at 2 stars for now as I am not sure if I will get quality prints and that is why I wanted a resin printer.if I am able to get good quality prints with some minor modifications that wont void the warranty like a flex coupler then I will update this and may even be happy with it.ok so its not z wobble but over curing I am happy with the print I got off it.here is a picture of one of the first prints and a picture of the print after getting help on the Wanhao D7 face book page.still giving it only a 4 star as the documentation that was non existent and what was on the manufactures site didn't really help.going off what I was reading there and what I had set up it just wasn't working.None of my emails to Wanhao have been replied to yet. However I don't hold that against them as I got it on a Friday so they most likely have not had any time to read them. (update Wanhao did respond the next day but my spam filter blocked it)Please be aware this resin printer is messy. Way more messy then my other resin printer.

Fails often, requires user maintenance
This printer is great--when it works. Every few months, the LED fails (~$17). Every few months, the LCD screen degrades (~$70). Replacing these parts requires taking apart the whole printer and in the case of the LED, soldering. It's very difficult to diagnose the specific cause of your issues because there is almost no indication as to what causes anything. The fan below the LED is awful, and doesn't work, leading to overheating inside the base. The fan next to the mainboard just did not work on my machine. The only place I've found that gives good help is the Facebook group. My main issues with this printer is that the LCD no longer displays. I've replaced the LCD, the bridge board (LCD connector board), reslotted every single cable. I've gone through every bit of troubleshooting I've found online. But still, there is no display. Everything inside looks fine--no fried boards, no burnt parts, everything put in the right place. The only indication that something is wrong (aside from the lack of display) is that the light on the inner LCD driving board is blinking blue. The cause of the issue this time is a faulty LCD driving board, which would cost roughly $120 to replace. With finickiness of this machine, that simply isn't worth it.Don't get me wrong--SLA printers provide great detail in prints. The D7 did for a few weeks. But this is effectively a machine in beta, and shouldn't be on the market if it requires ~$100 worth of repairs every few months and has no effective troubleshooting guides.

sanding anodizing off of the build plate and connecting to a Raspberry pi with Nano DLP loaded I am able to get excellent prints with much better quality than I ever could ...
3D printing is not a plug and play hobby. This machine took some "tweaking" to get it up and running. After experimenting with exposure time, Z height adjustment, sanding anodizing off of the build plate and connecting to a Raspberry pi with Nano DLP loaded I am able to get excellent prints with much better quality than I ever could with my most advanced FDM Delta printer. So far this has worked extremely well with a few different resins. Check resin manufacturer compatibility with Wanhao D7. Most will list which of their resins are compatible. Only problem I have had is with 3d party resin is one that was not specifically designed for the Wanhao D7, which was a mistake on my part.Overall this is a good quality machine for a decent price.

Received a prototype quality unit
Though I've seen some people online get this working it would appear the unit I was shipped was an alpha-test unit at best. The video driver board and the LCD are mismatched and after many hours trying 10+ computers / devices all capable of 4k resolutions - nothing can get an image on the LCD.Aside from not being able to print with this printer the construction of the case seems good. Everything seems sturdy and the build-plate mechanics appear to be well designed. Apparently there is a design flaw with the LCD in that there is nothing holding it in place other than some light adhesive and it is prone to cracking due to suction when removing the VAT - so watch out for that.I think the unit has great potential, but as a non-functional unit I need to give it 1-star. I intend to revisit this unit after it has become more market-ready.

Not worth the money!
This printer is overpriced for what you get. There is no LCD display and the control software is not easy to learn or use and I am a skilled Technician with many years of experience. I could not find any settings for the Wanhao resin either. I will be purchasing another brand of DLP or SLA 3D Printer that has a built in display and clear settings for their resin. Dissapointed I wasted money on this thing.

Ok for the price
It's ok for the price on a Entry level resin printer. There is a good suport group on Facebook to help you because it is a bit of a learning curve for this printer. I would recommend nanodlp if you are going to buy this. Setup and printing was quick and painless with nanodlp.
