For more than 150 years, Tissot has embodied the innovation and tradition of Swiss watch-making. Based in the Neuchâtel area of the Jura Mountains, in Le Locle, Switzerland, Charles-Félicien Tissot and his son Charles-Emile created the watch making company Tissot in 1853. Whether in the technology of its movements, in the research for special materials or in the very functions of the watch itself, Tissot's engineers and watchmakers have developed pioneering timepieces over the years. Some of Tissot's triumphs over the years include the the Idea 2001 (the world's first plastic watch) released in 1971, the Rock watch (which set the timepiece's movement in a stone case made from Swiss Alps granite) in 1985, and the Wood watch from 1988 (with a completely wooden case). Tissot uses the best movements (from ETA SA Manufacture Horlogère Suisse), the highest quality materials (316L steel, 18K gold, titanium) and scratch-proof glasses (sapphire crystal--at least 2500 Vickers). The company has been involved with high profile sports events since 1974 when they sponsored a racing car in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, France. Since then Tissot's timepieces have been chosen as official timekeepers for world championships in cycling, motorcycling, fencing and ice hockey. And Tissot is currently the the official watch and timekeeper of NASCAR. Tissot timepieces have been worn by a bevy of celebrities over the years--including Grace Kelly, Elvis Presley and Nelson Mandela--and James Stewart's character L.B. Jefferies wore a Tissot timepiece in Alfred Hitchcock's "Rear Window." Today the company is represented in a variety of sporting fields by English soccer star Michael Owen, IndyCar driver Danica Patrick, and MotoGP world champion Nicky Hayden. Today, Tissot is a member of the Swatch Group, the world's largest watch producer and distributor. Stainless steel case with a black leather strap. Fixed stainless steel bezel. Black dial with silver-tone hands and index hour markers. Minute markers around the outer rim.

Beautifully Modern
I was in the market for an automatic dress watch. I wanted something modern, yet classic. This watch fit the bill perfectly. This watch sets itself apart by three things: (1) its design; (2) its engineering; and (3) its craftsmanship. The design of this watch is thoroughly modern, yet classic and understated. Too many watches are "homages" to retro designs, or designs made decades ago. While vintage designs certainly has its appeal, I wanted something that will be a future classic. And I think this delivers. The 80 hour power reserve is chiefly why I bought this watch. It isn't all show and no go, this watch is engineered superbly. The second hand sweeps smoothly even though its frequency has been reduced to enhance efficiency. The winding mechanism is smooth. Having a long power reserve in this price range will hopefully revolutionize this sector of this market. The craftsmanship of this watch is superb. I catch myself staring at the intricate details at the sides of the watch. The multifaceted face is subtle yet luxurious at the same time. This is a beautifully made watch.

Swiss Made Tissot
this is a really nice looking watch offered by Amazon.com Most importantly the watch comes with a 80-hour power reserve movement, which makes it even better! The sapphire crystals on both sides are just gorgeous and durable! However, the band is a little tight. Overall is a nice and affordable Swiss made watch!

Husband Birthday Gift
My husband has been a watch connoisseur for a few years now. He has been looking at this watch for a few months and I got it as an early birthday present. This company was responsive and fast shipping. He loves the watch, can be dressed up or down. Definitely a good buy!

Dud.
The watch arrived looking great. A bit smaller face than I expected but still a nice watch. Within 3 days, the pendulum in the back lost a screw and stopped moving properly. Within 5 days, the entire watch had stopped working altogether and I am in the process of shipping it back to the vendor. One frustrating thing was that I, having inspected the watch initially for damage, threw out the small tag attached to the strap. The fine print on the purchase says it can't be returned without that tiny tag. Just my experience, but maybe a cautionary tale.

Nice watch, just not great
Great watch, but much too plain. I know plain Bauhaus watches have their place, but this one lacks any type of pizzazz or Je ne sais quoi.

Very nice watch. A rich man once told me about the brand. If your tag breaks you spend $500 to fix it if this breaks you can tossit!

Magnifique !!
