Hape Wooden Lunch Box| Kitchen Pretend Play Food Set and Accessories for Kids

This is one of my 2 year old's favorite toys. She likes being like her big sister with her own lunchbox. It's durable and adorable!EDIT almost 2 years later (04/20/16) and this toy still gets a lot of use and it's still in excellent condition! Well worth the money!!My goal is to provide a thorough review to assist others with their purchase, as there are many choices on Amazon and I personally rely on reviews when making most of my purchases. This is a perfect imagination stimulating learning tool. We bought it right before he started going to preschool so he could grasp the idea of taking a snack or lunch. He has continued to enjoy playing with it, making a sandwich, sharing it with us and promoting language skills as we discuss what is in his lunchbox.

I love Hape toys and since my 16 month old loves to use her dishes we needed some play food! I love that it is made of wood and felt. It is definitely quality play food and for a good price too. The only things I didnt like was the cookie is too small for her to use right now (I expected as much from the pictures when I ordered so no surprise) and the straw in the juice box comes out. I am not sure if the straw is supposed to come out of the juice box but ours came right out. I had to take that from my little girl and will probably try gluing somehow or just taking the straw away. Otherwise the rest is adorable and very well made. She loves the little lunch box and it is great for trying to keep track of the pieces too. I will be buying more food sets from Hape soon!

My son loves this! He gets a little anxious about preschool and so we love things we can pretend play school with at home. He packs this lunch box and puts it in his play backpack and loves it. He loves that the wooden straw comes out of the juice box too.

This is a high quality durable item. Mainly wood food with a few felt pieces. The lunch bag seems like it should hold up to kid play. My daughter love to pack their lunch for a picnic and this is a perfect role play item.

My great grandson (2 1/2) was so excited to have his own lunch box - it was the first time he said "tomato". The juice box comes with a wood straw that could be a choking hazard.

The wooden pieces are fantastic quality compared to the more popular brand. The lunchbag is also great quality and my son loves taking the food out, and putting it back in, many times over

I am a huge fan of Hape toys, and love their other sets-in-a-bag - our favorite is the pretend makeup set. This kit is very cute, and the reusable "lunchbag" it comes in is great for keeping it all together - always a constant struggle with toddlers! I like how the juicebox comes with a removable straw, but my daughter is very frustrated by the fact that the yogurt container won't open. She has little jam and honey jars from a Play Toys food set that open and close, and it would have been nice for this to do the same. Other than that, everything seems well made, is cute, and is enjoyed by little kids.
