Great kayak. Rudder could be better though.

Faulty Propel - Warranty geared towards local dealers NOT ONLINE PURCHASES
I purchased the Slayer-10 kayak in July 2017. I have followed the maintenance instructions to the letter, even purchasing the lubrication gadget. I've used it in lakes and ponds only - no salt water. I fish, on average onece per week out of the kayak during Apr-Oct. Everything was cool until last week when the pedal system developed a skip. This happened as a result of regular use - no accident or catastrophe. It seems as though one of the internal gears has sheared a tooth or something. So, after the problem, I began hunting down the best way to get it serviced. Since I purchased it here on Amazon, there doesn't seem to be a viable way to have it serviced. Here's what the Native Watercraft website says:In order to take advantage of the Native Watercraft warranty, you must have registered your kayak. To register your boat, please click this link.Once you have registered, if you have a warranty issue arise your first step is to contact the dealer you bought the boat from. To see a current listing of our dealers, please visit our dealer locator here. They will ask you to send in photos, a summary of the problem, proof of purchase, and serial number. Please note that each claim once submitted is review on an individual basis and can take 2-3 days for a response time from Native watercraft."As you can see, there are no instructions for warranty repairs when purchased on Amazon. I'm really hoping that Native Watercraft can fix this since I know I'm not the only one to purchase online!

Pedals FORWARD and BACKWARDS. Handles LIKE a DREAM
This boat functions like a recumbent bicycle on water. If you are tired of sore neck and shoulders, this will change the experience of kayaking. The seating and pedal position is so comfortable.I can really lean back and motor across a lake.If you are looking to improve handling on a river, there are rudder upgrades available.Generally designed for fishing on lakes, the 13 foot model and the Mariner 12.5 are better on open water, but not all that much better. This is a great boat and fits inside my minivan.
