BurpeeHeatwave Blend Lettuce Seeds 1000 seeds

I buy this every year because after the spring rush abundance of lettuce here in the Midwest, the lettuces soon go to bolt and that's it! You can get successive plantings using this Burpee Heatwave Lettuce blend. It's not perfect, and some of the lettuces in this blend will bolt, but if you snip the plants young for a salad, you can enjoy garden lettuce for most of the summer! Water evenly and regularly so they can survive the heat. When one plant bolts, I pull it and put a few seeds in its place. You can watch them grow daily! I have a few amazing-looking heads right now, and if I had ONE more pack of seeds, that would take me up to the killing frost!

Burpee has always had good seeds. Just planted this lettuce for a fall/winter harvest. Only 4 starts because they have not come up yet.

I'm hopeful all will germinate. I purchased this late at night and didn't think about how little 1500 lettuce seeds really is. Basically the size of a regular seed packet at store for $2. My fault so not returning but perhaps this review will save others from the same mistake. Go the microgreen route to get larger amounts of seeds.

This is a delicious mix of lettuces. Have had lettuce for awhile now and have just re-seeded my patio raised bed garden!

Update, have grown 3 batches, these are my favorite salad mix and a bargain for what you get. Tip for beginners: sprinkle on top of moisten seed starter mix, moisten well again, cover with a transparent lid to hold moisture in (my favorite is rock wool & a take out container, but I've used potting mix too) and leave on a counter top where theres some light. The seeds will germinate quickly, in my warm kitchen, it took 24 hours.The seeds came quickly. The packaging wasn’t the usually graphics in the retail store. I purchased directly from Amazon, so I’m certain it’s just a bulk packaging graphic. The use by date is the end of this year as noted in the picture. I guess I’m bored in quarantine so I decided to count the seeds Bc it did not look like much... and yes it was so so tedious. I counted 100 seeds per pile and got 16 piles. So here was roughly 1600+ seeds. Probably just under a tablespoon in total. Lettuce sends are so tiny. I have them germinating in some paper towels and I’ll get back w my germination success rate.3 days later 100% germination. I’m very satisfied. I would’ve preferred that each type of seed was in separate envelopes. But overall great deal and I’m highly satisfied. Highly recommend 👍
