Impressive tool
Wow, this is an impressive product to a true gardener. Those of us who love to tend the yard and garden know that tools come in big box quality and genuine quality. This saw is in the elite tier! It is very solid all around. The folding mechanism, which has been the downfall of many of my tools over the years, gives the impression that it will be in my shed long after its handle is soiled. Even the plastic case it comes in is well-designed and heavy duty with a nice, solid hook for hanging so you can keep track of the compact saw that might get lost in a shed that gets as disorganized as mine sometimes does. Most importantly, the teeth are ideally designed for getting through the woody sinews of a mature bamboo culm, and the shaping allows you to get between tightly clumped culms to cull out the dead wood.Very highly recommend this fine product.

Cuts beautifully!
The fine teeth do cut wood a little slower than the medium teeth, but it takes much less force to start the cut and it works perfectly to trim small branches that are narrow enough to fit between the medium teeth. So if you have a blade with medium teeth and you are occasionally frustrated with these two issues, switch to a blade with fine teeth. It will still cut larger branches just fine, but will take more time than a blade with medium teeth.

Good first imperessions
I have yet to put it to use, but my first impressions upon handling it for the first time are as follows. Right out of the box the saw and the case it came with feel like a good quality product. Nothing about it is flimsy or cheap. It feels good in my hand, the handle has that nice soft-but-not-squishy, rubbery "expensive" feel to it. I own a Bahco Laplander with medium teeth and I have use it while camping to process small firewood. I will have something to compare it to. I will update this post if and when I have more things to report.

Fine teeth can be better.
I own three other Silky saws with large or x-large teeth (pocketboy, zubat330, katanaboy500). Does that make me a fan-boy yet? IMO there is no by-hand substitute for thumb-sized and larger cutting). But this one (pocket boy with fine teeth) is a better choice for pruning limbs below thumb sized. It is actually faster because it doesn't snag and pull on small limbs like the larger teeth do.So around the house, I find myself reaching for this fine-tooth saw all the time for pruning (instead of the large tooth saws and instead of pruning shears). For larger stuff around the house, I usually crank a chainsaw (instead of reaching for the large tooth silky saws).I still like the large tooth silkys away from home (hike, bike, boat, truck...) for their ability to tackle big stuff. They have been a game changer for all my outdoor activities. But honestly, day in and day out, I actually use this fine-tooth saw the most.

PocketBoy Yellow (Fine tooth) for woodworking tasks
I've purchased the Silky PocketBoy 170 (mm) in coarse (Red), medium (Black), and fine (Yellow). All are very well built, very durable, and very effective saws. Further, the PocketBoy 170's come with a smooth, close-fitting, clear plastic case that protects the rest of your gear, meaning for the Yellow (fine) model, your tool kit, tool chest, waist pack, or back pocket.Replacement blades for all 3 are readily available on Amazon (from Japan), and do arrive quite quickly; replacement blades mean replacement actually is possible, while with competitive product you might as well just buy another saw instead. The Yellow (fine) PocketBoy 170 seems better suited to woodworking tasks requiring a sharp, easy to use hand saw that will be easy to control and give a smooth cut. For the outdoors perhaps this means working to build furniture or wooden equipment, not cutting up branches for firewood.

Piece of junk
I bought this saw before a trip to Alaska to cut ribs out of caribou.I lent it to a guy the day we arrived and it snapped within 30 seconds of use. Therefore I was left without a saw for that trip, but was able to exchange it when I returned home.I just used the replacement for the first time today on a whitetail skull, and it broke within the first 30 seconds. This is the most useless saw I have ever used, and I am surprised to say that because my silky non-folding saws have been great. Would never use another one of these though, and frustrated to see it's not eligible for return.

Ergonomic and great design
Feels great in hand and folds up extremely compact. I wish I got one level coarser teeth but I wasn't sure how fine I wanted it and I wanted the blue handel more ha ha one thing that's great is I gan just buy a replacement blade and switch out to whatever I need for different projects. The included plastic carrying case is really bad in my opinion it will most likely be thrown away it would be better if it was nylon case similar to a Leatherman even if I had to pay slightly more.

Broke on first use
Very disappointed with this saw, tested it out on a piece of soft wood while hiking in the woods. It barely began cutting when the blade caught and snapped near the base. Build quality seems fantastic on the rest of the saw, but when dependability seems to be this low I could never trust it or recommend it. Marking a single star for ease of use, because it didn't even get through a single use. Never buying Silky again.
