Remington HC5855 Virtually Indestructible Haircut Kit & Beard Trimmer, Hair Clippers for Men (15 pieces)

My complaint is regarding the seller, not the product itself, but I thought it would be useful to warn other buyers as this seems to be a recurring issue and particularly since it's "Fulfilled by Amazon." The item I received was not as advertised and was not new. I purchased a Remington trimmer that was advertised in the picture as having a rectangular, soft-pouch case, but I received a cheap plastic sleeve instead, as others have pictured in their reviews. The case is similar to that of a money sleeve, but thinner. Even worse, the trimmer guards had bits of hair scattered throughout them and were repackaged to "look new." Pitiful deception really, shameful.

This is the third pair of clippers I've purchased in the $20-$30 range in the past twenty years for my home haircuts that occur every two to three weeks. While they are sleek looking, lightweight, and come with no shortage of accessories, they leave much to be desired when it comes to actually cutting hair. Here are the issues my wife and in-house hairdresser has identified:Under-powered and needs to pass over the same areas of hair several times before cutting it all.Hair accumulates on clippers and must be scraped off by hand frequently.Gets hot quickly and comes close to feeling like it's burning the skin when used without plastic attachments.Has an overall flimsy feel.In a nutshell, you could probably do better elsewhere, and it would be nice if Remington could improve this product.

Why was hair in it when I’m buying a new product? I use to be a huge amazon fan but this kind of stuff happening is getting insane.

I have used many clippers over the years. This is my favorite so far, and it's small, fits comfortably in my hand. It clips great and quickly. The sounds, oh way better than your average clipper, this is more of a humming, than the typical buzzing you hear. I trimmed my hair as well as facial hair with this. I used it with no guide, just clipper without pulling, just clean clipping.I bought this to replace one I use for my hair trimming. I am ordering another for clipping my pets. This thing is a lot quieter than others, and it should really help with their anxiety when clipping them. it vibrates a lot less too.I love the easy removal of the blades for cleaning. The price point is superb.

I'm confused. I've used two different Remington clippers and have had trouble. I'm thinking I'll pass up Remington from here on out. This one leaves patches and pulls, all while being brand new. It's quiet though. That's nice. But it doesn't cut without spending ten times the amount of time others take as I'm required to pass over and over to clean up the patches it leaves. Disappointing.

I bought these because my husband really needed a haircut but we’re currently confined to the house with the Covid-19 virus spreading. This is the first time I’ve ever cut his hair and it was really easy to use, we’ll continue using these even after we have the option to go to the hair salon again.

I was eager for this item to come in. I've used haircut clippers for years, but this was to be my first use of a Remington product. All my previous clippers were from Wahl. Those are decent clippers, but I have to replace them after a couple of years. My Remington clippers arrived today. The first thing I noticed is there is absolutely NO INSTRUCTIONS included. The box has some general information, but not very helpful. That's not a show-stopper, as I've been using clippers for a long time. Then I looked at the clippers closely. The blades were WAY OFF at an angle. I tried powering them up, thinking they would move into position. They didn't. The motor sounded horrible and there was A LOT of vibration coming from inside the clippers. I'm sure I received a defective item. But where is the QUALITY CONTROL? Totally absent in this case. I'd hoped these clippers would be good. They are highly rated here, and from what I can tell, I am one of very few to rate them poorly. I initiated a return within an hour of opening the box. Extremely disappointed. Will NEVER buy a Remington product as a result. I should have been suspicious as the price listed was low for what are supposed to be good hair clippers. I was not at all impressed.

I want to focus on the question - Is this trimmer good for balding? Some reviews says yes, others say no? Well the answer is yes IF you also purchase the Precision T-Blade. The blade that comes with the trimmer is not for balding. Swap out the standard blade with the T-Blade and this trimmer is excellent for balding IF you want to leave just a hint of stubble. It's almost smooth, but there is some hair left. If you want a shiny head, use a razor or (I guess) the balding blade which is also available. If you want the closest cut possible, without a shiny head, the T-Blade is fantastic. BTW changing blades is effortless. They snap in and out. No alignment issues. Very high quality feel. The T-Blade is also fantastic for shaving if you want the shadow look. The T-Blade does not snag or cut, unlike the reviews of the balding blade which indicate you must be very careful not to cut yourself. Absolutely no problem with the T-Blade.Agree with all the other reviews that praise the quality and fit/finish of this trimmer. Feels good in your hand. Does not heat up (oil the blade). Blades snap in and out with authority. I will be retiring two other trimmers I purchased in a quest to get the close cut I was looking for. Could not be more pleased with this product.

I bought this to use on myself as all hair salons are closed and may be for a while.It comes with a bunch of attachments for differing lengths but I used the closest cut (#1?). Not sure about other #s. Might be best for a closer cut, at least on yourself.I wasn't sure it'd be possible cutting my own hair but it was super-easy with only a mirror in front of me. I was able to do the back without being able to see it if I went slow and shook the hair out of the clippers regularly.Price is great for this quality and I can cut my own hair.

I ordered this shaver because we have a 2 year old (and another boy on the way), and the lockdowns have made it hard to bring him for haircuts. I received it a couple days ago, but didn't have time to use it until today.In my opinion, it's easy to use, and I was also surprised by the fact that it's pretty quiet. I'm not professional. In fact, this was my first time shaving someones head. I didn't want to go too short, so I went with the highest length (#8), which is 1-inch. The clippers didn't clog up, and it didn't seem like he was snagged or anything like that at all because he was fairly calm through the whole haircut.Additionally, the clippers look and feel pretty sturdy to me. With the proper care, it looks like they should last awhile. Lastly, the product came as described, and I had no issues with the shipping / receiving either.

You order from a well known company and right away you see the quality in packaging and product...guess that is why they are in business for such a long time.....works quickly and quitely...i do wish it shaved a little cleaner while using no attachments and not have to go over with a blade...but not a big deal.....love the fact of having a bag to keep everything together which my previous shaver did not.....overall, a nice piece of machinery

Although, they charged me more than I had expected...Not cool, of them to have done so without reaching out first. The product is still a good buy if you're not into doing all that fancy types of hair cuts & have kids or pets or even if you're clumsy. This thing is pretty solid compared to other brands that broke right after the first call off a counter...

It is very effective for shaving the head and the beard I like it since it's my first hair clipper ^_^You should know that it's not enough to remove very short hairs like razor exactly to shape he beard or on the neck, so you will need a razor for the finishes, however the rest of it is really efficient
